Preloading HL2 in other PC

Well, I have the ATI HL voucher, but I cant download HL2 in my PC (I don’t have ADSL, just Dial-up). But I can preload it in my office!!!! Then I'll zip the steam folder, put it in some CD's and install in my PC. Can this method work? What do you think?

PD: Fist I'll copy the steam's files in my PC and just then register my ATI cd-key.

Yup, should work fine.

zip .gcf files only, let steam create the "steamapps/accountname" folder.. i think it's safer

Yep, all you need to do is to install steam then login with your normal steam username and pw. This let's you play Hl2 and any other steam games you have ANYWHERE on ANY pc!
