I am asking if I take the manipolatur can I take a dead body and beat someone with teh body. That would be so OMG awesome funny.

Thanks in advance Patsy Umbeglia

Only if the person you just killed had been 'tagged' by the mapper so that they can be manipulated, otherwise no.

There is no weight limit, you can change the max weight with the console.

I'll be damned if i'm going to lay down here and let you manipulate my body! THATS DISGUSTING!

well Patsy... what Abom said ^

hmm, I thought you changed the mass? and Source calculates that with gravity and hey presto... you get a weight. because mass is more relevant as thats what give you weight.

There's a search button you know ;)

Then what is the other manipulator gun that is shown to pick up a dead body and toss it around. I think it was in the begining of the 'improvised gameplay' video off fileplanet. Right after the barrels fall down through the pegs.

That's the physgun, it won't be in the Single Player, but I'm sure it'll be spawnable.

I thought in one of the interviews someone said it would be in the game.

I want to take a body and throw it at another body. Maybe kill the other body.

Thanks Patsy Umbeglia

^^ is the above possible ^^

I am saying if weight is set high and the body is manipulatable and then you swing the body at the npc or shoot it at it will the npc die?

I think is question was more steered to "will enemies (NPC's) take damage by physical objects"

Yes they will, if the mapper makes it so you can pick up that body.

Dear god romeo, after reading your past posts, you keep asking the same things OVER AND OVER again. You're a troll. Go away.

EDIT: He keeps getting answers for his questions but keeps asking it.

Thank you people dont answer the question I wanted they answer different one and go off-the topic. Thanks for final answer the question.

You are welcome, some people don't put themselves in your shoes, and assume you know everything.

I swear, they see keywords like "ragdoll" and carry on a random conversation about it.

;)

I will tell you what I do know. In the E3 2004 vid you see gordon pick up a physically simulated weapon with the manipulator. It was a smg. If you can pick up a physically simulated weapon you can hit them with it too.

You can throw grenades back. But can you drop your crow-bar? If not at least you can throw weapons back at the combine.

Is... this a question?

We don't know if you can drop your weapon. I assume you can to do stuff like you said pick it up with the manipulator and throw it at the enemy, or give the weapon to an NPC.

Anything physical can hurt an enemy, or anything else physical.

Sounds neat but what is a weapon physically simulated? I guess I find out answer to my questions soon anyways. Hopefully tommorrow or the next day maybe. But by psw do you mean those little marine turrets that can tip over.

Woah, don't suddenly say "psw" lazy people won't know what that is by the use of some logic.

We mean, weapons that are on the ground that you can pick up, you can manipulate them. Or do whatever. They are just like a barrel or crate, they are physical.

oh what are those turrets you can tip? I think I remember them from HL. I remember seeing that you can use manipulator to make it fire at enemies.

something that's physically simulated means that the object "exists" physically just like in the real world, take the crowbar for example, the crowbar is literally a "bar swinging through the air."

Maybe the real question is: what isn't physically simulated?

If you can pick it up with the manipulator and it has high weight... you can hurt someone with it. If you throw something really heavy in the air and it lands on you, it will kill you.

Simply, things will act and react as you expect them to.

Does that mean if you insult an NPC he'll punch you in the face? Not physics related, but a humorous 'for every action there is a reaction' scenario :-P

They won't punch you because they know you will discentergrate(spelling) them if they do. They do insult you though.

gordon might be like a pro at body language, he could probably scare the hell out of you just by doing some kinda wierd pose.

i want to be able to aim the manipulator at the combines pant belts so you can watch thier pants fall down, and trip over them.

do they even have pants. I thought they wore some kind of jumpsuit. :P

we will have to give them some then, now won't we? as long as i am breathing the combine soldiers will have pants, or until i move onto something better.

In one of the E3 2003 demo's he was dragging a body around to show how it moves over the other objects around.
Even if it doens't let you do it in the game as is, It can be done.

We've got all the answers that are needed out of the thread, no more reason to keep it open.
