I was thinking about reformatting my HDD because it has been sluggish lately. I am sure it has a couple of viruses that Norton and AVG cannot pick up. My question is, would reformatting help raise my FPS in CSS? Also, my ethernet card is not installed. Under device manager it said it is an Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Connection. I do not know where to get the drivers for this from. I checked my cds that came with my computer, but it was not on them. One more quickie, what drivers should I use for my videocard (9800 PRO) after I reformat? Any particular ones that will give me peak performance?

Before you reformat, make sure you get certain drivers for your hardware. Like for the ethernet card just go to Intel.com and get a driver for your card. Then after reformatting you can get the rest of the drivers online after you install the NIC driver. It might help your FPS is you reformat since you won't have any adware programs consuming RAM or anything. I have Norton 2005 and I don't get adware or anything. As for videocard drivers, I would try ATI's drivers or Omega drivers. Test each one, see which works best for you. Have fun formatting.

Thanks for your help. I am going to reformat tomorrow night.

I have been using them and you know this. I just want the best performance out of them. That is why I am wondering which drivers are better.

You think that. I want to know as a fact what is the best.

your going to get different opinons, some sayign omegas are for an increase in graphic, and the dna in performance...well somethign like that but i believe cats are more of both

There isn't fact when it comes to drivers. It's all opinion. Some people will swear up and down that Omega is better than catalyst. Well my friend, you either have to trust them or download both catalyst and omega and try them for yourself.
