Alco-Pops are the drinks like Bacardi Breezer, WkD, Smirnoff Ice and so on.

Alcoholic Drinks that taste like pop or fwoooooooooot juice.
 
We removed alcohol from grocery stores a century ago.

No, a social democratic country where sales of alcohol is monopolized and controlled by the state in special stores. Sooo... basically we have liquor stores that also sell beer.
 
hey it's like canada without quebec ..ya we have beer and liquor stores ..I knda like it due to quality control ..I've been to some liquor stores in the US that were selling battery acid disguised as alcohol

Yeah thats about where Utah is at, getting a drink is like going to some underground, semi-legal porn convention, kept out of public view as much as they can.
 
Come to Australia. The tax on alco-pops here is so huge now it's cheaper to mix you're own drinks. At least we can still buy the damn things at any drive through or pub.

That's... not what it's like here. At all. It's a store. A big, well-lit, clean store, centrally located, the closest one to me is in the middle of a shopping mall, with brochures about what wines goes best with what food (granted, they're right next to the "Do you have an alcohol problem"-ones) and shelves after shelves of well-stocked sweet, sweet whiskey, beer, cider, bourbon, vodka, wines and various other wonderful varieties of alcohol... aaaah... man I need a drink.

I just don't think it's fair to have that Much control. Granted the same thing can be said when comes to other narcotics in the U.S but Alcohol....dunno lol

My wheels have trodden Sweden once, and I tell you, they're doing it right. The streets are clean and paved with free internet, and the vodka is readily available. The only real difference is the remarkably low infant death rate and the wonderful public transport system. Even 10kg of aluminium knows it's the smart choice.

In Britain (or perhaps just Scotland), you can't legally purchase alcohol after 12:30 pm on a Sunday.

I can't find anything actually stating why this is, but it just is. Probably some silly ancient decree. It's hilarious when Hogmanay is on a Sunday.
