Riddles!

I'l start off with an easy one.
A man was outside taking a walk when it began to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?

This one's a little harder.
I have many feathers to help me fly. I have a body and head, but I'm not alive. It is your strength which determines how far I go. You can hold me in your hand, but I'm never thrown. What am I?

This on is challenging.
During WWII, there was a bridge connecting Germany and Switzerland, and on the German side, there was a sentry tower with a guard in it. He would come out every three minutes to check on the bridge, and he had orders to turn back anyone who tried to get into Germany, and shoot anyone trying to escape without a pass. There was a woman who desperately needed to get into Switzerland, and she knew she didn't have time to get a pass. It would take her at least six minutes to cross the bridge, but she managed to do it. How?

If you can solve this one without google, I will personally give you hot sechs.
You have 12 similar looking balls. 11 of them weight the same. One of them has a different weight, BUT you don't know whether it is heavier or ligher. You also have a scale. You can put balls on both sides of the scale and it'll tell you which side is heavier or will stay in the middle if both sides weight the same. And the problem is: you can use the scale only three times. How can you find out whether the different ball is lighter or heavier and which one it is?

1) She walks for 3 min to Switzerland, then turn back. The guard would see her going to Germany, so he would not stop her.

2) Saperate the balls into three bags. Then, weight them. If they weigh the same, then the ball will be in the other balls. Once you found out, weigh two balls. If they weigh the same, then the ball must be either the other two balls. Take one ball from the balls that was weighed, and take one ball from the balls that wasn't weighed. If they weigh the same, then the remaining ball will be the one. If not, then the heavier/lighter will weigh...well, heavier or lighter than the other:)

Qwert, I think what you're trying to say about the first one is:

She walks onto the bridge, then starts walking back to Germany as the guard appears, he turns her around and tells her to go back to Switzerland, as no-one is allowed into Germany.

Now, some riddles. From me.


You are standing in a room with two doors. One leads to Heaven, the other leads to hell. You do not know which leads to where. There are also two parrots; One speaks the truth, the other, lies. Again, you do not know who will say truth or lies. Asking only one question to a parrot, how can you go to Heaven?


There are 50 men walking on an old road. As they were walking, they saw an apple tree with 50 apples. Each took an apple, but there were still 49 apples left. How is this possible????

I heard it a bit differently how you get one chance to ask one or both of them a question and they were just two twin guys sitting there.

Which way WOULD you point IF I asked you which was the door to heaven. The truth teller would point you towards heaven, and by making the liar lie about the lie he'd point you there too.
 
what is the shortest distance of boardwalk you can use to connect 4 islands arranged in a perfect 100m x 100m square so that there is a route from any island to any island? Simplify the islands into points at the corners of the square.

Does that work?

Surely if I asked the lying parrot what door would to other parrot say leads to hell, the lying parrot would lie and tell you the other (honest) parrot would point to the door which goes to heaven. So you go to the opposite and you're in hell.

Or am I really, really stupid. :(
 
About the parrots.
You go to one of the parrots and say "Which gate would the other parrot tell me was the gate to Hell?" and take that one because th truth telling parrot would tell the truth about the other one lying and the lieing parrot would lie about the other one's truth.

uhm, one man took an apple from the tree, and then one other guy took the apple from the first guy, and then another guy took the apple from the second guy, etc etc etc. Untill every man has taken the apple once.

You were correct, only you would have to through the door at which the parrot points. You combined the wrong question with 'going through the other door'.

ok, a man is asleep in his house and is awoken in the middle of the night by a huge crash and the sound of grinding metal. he gets up, and runs to the window. one look outside makes him turn around and switch the light on, open his draw, pull out a gun and shoot himself in the head....why? where could this guy possible be living???

ive had to alter it as its actually a riddle where the person being told it asks questions, and the teller can only answer 'yes' or 'no'. herefore i threw in some more hints than usual :E

3. A black dog stood in the middle of the road in a town painted black. None of the street lights are working due to a power failure. A car with broken headlights drove towards the dog but swerves in time to avoid hitting it. How did he see the dog?

After taking all this in, the detective turns to his colleague and proclaims “Aha! It must have been murder.”

How does he come to this conclusion?
 
Murderers forced him to say that he was going to kill himself, shot him, put the gun in his hand. They lock the door on the way out

I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Myabe it is one of those tape recorders that automatically have it rewinded, so it reached the end of the tape and rewound to the start where he recorded it.
 
Mine:

1. What goes up a drainpipe down but wont go down a drainpipe up? (No Googling :))


2. A man lies in the middle of the desert. Next to him is a package. It has never been opened, but it is the cause of his death. What is in it? (easy :))


3. 50 people lie dead in a cabin in the woods. They did not die of natural causes, they were not murdered and they all died at the same time. How do you explain this?
