Scoobies - The New Craze In Town

I'm just wondering whether this is just a local thing or not, but there appears to be a new craze around.
Scoobies Or ScoobyDoos.
Basically a couple of strands of plastic string that you tie together and braid into bracelets or whatever. There were a couple of people with them at the beginning of the week, and now they've spread like wildfire. Even the teachers know what they're called, which at my school is pretty rare, they're usually very detached from the pupils.
Not to stereotype, but the lads seem to be doing different things, half don't care and jump on the bandwagon, braiding pink threads and stuff...
While the other other seem to be trying to be manly and buy them to whip people with...
Personally, haven't bought a single one and I don't plan to. Is this just a local trend or is it spreading? The new yo-yo perhaps?

To cut something that big in half you have to cut all the rubber to split it, meaning this could not been done accidentally, unless using a very long sharp sword or a light saber altough we all know only jedis can own light sabers one of whom you are not!

Yes, I have heard of them, yes, many people here have them on keyrings, as bracelets etc, no, I don't have any, no I've never heard them being called scoobies.

Good God they are pathetic. So many people had them a while ago it was just stupid, eventually (being the bullies we sometimes are) me and a few mates went around taking them off people and just throwing them in the bin. Even some of the "'ardest" chavs were sitting there to me what looked like sewing.

If you were to ask me what a Scoobie was, i'd say you were referring to a Subaru Impreza, or a cartoon dog .... I wouldnt for a second think you were referring to a friendship bracelet.

those things were popular when i was younger. i even have a few left from my childhood (two cobras, and two or three of those regular rectangle ones).
