Heya, curious reader and first time poster in the forum

But i was thinking yesterday, when the orange box comes out, what game will you play first?? The most obvious choice is Episode two, but, I'm turning into a bit of a portal man, I'm very into physics and this kinda stuff amazes me! Plus it's a very unique game, and after watching a gameplay preview, I'm counting down the days for portal!

So I will probably play portal first, what about you guys?? Will you give episode two a miss for TF2 or portal?
 
Look, I'm a big HL fan, played it from the beginning, but doesn't portal fascinate you all?? It's different, it looks challenging, and come on! you can run after yourself!

why are people playing ep 2 first? i wanna know, i might change my mind.
 
Portal fascinates me, yeah, but I've been hyped about Episode Two since I saw the teaser at the end of Ep1.
 
Finshing both SP games before I play any TF2, I don't want spoilers.
 
Episode Two. In addition to the obvious reasons, I'd think I'd be way more likely to get stuck on Portal, thus putting off my enjoyment of Ep. 2 even further.
 
i'm kinda interested in portal as well because, i think valve said it, it will 'reveal more about who you are in the half-life universe than episode two', but he also said ' you'll learn more about apeture science by playing ep 2', not too sure how that works, but i would like to know about the former. But i do want to know more about apeture science... and yes ive been to the web site

Episode 2. TF2 and Portal are cool, but I don't give a shit about them in comparison to Half-Life itself.
 
As I'm getting the Orange Box for mah 360, I'm going to play HL2 first for a bit of a catch up, then Episode One for the first proper time then straight onto Episode Two.

I'll take a look at how TF2 works through the middle probably, same with Portal. I love not having played Episode One properly, though - gives me one more thing to be excited about. :D
 
Saving Episode One until now was a good idea... once you finish it you want Episode Two very much. I wish I had the willpower to have done that.

I might actually play Portal first (during Thanksgiving break). I'll really be in the shoes of the main character who has no idea why she's there. Then I'll play Episode Two (probably during Christmas break) and go "aaaahh, I get it now." It'll be painful to put off Ep2 for so long, but I'm gonna do it. As for TF2, I have little interest in it, but I'll probably go play it a couple times just for fun.
 
Episode 2 first, for my HL2 story fix, and I'll be playing in this order:
Ep2
TF2
Portal

Normally I'd get all the single player stuff out of the way before messing about online, but I've been anticipating TF2 much more than Portal. It's just going to have to wait.

If I were you I'd play expansions and LC before the real Half-Lifes.
 
Wheres the option for ep1, I have yet to play that. So I just voted for ep2.

I'll probably play ep1, ep2, portal than tf2.
 
I think I play Black Mesa mod before Ep3 comes out, I believe it is released before it, it cannot take so long. And since Ep3 likely comes at 2010. I know that they are going to announce release date to something like March 08, but that is not gonna happen with knowing Valve.

I don't like HL1 alot anymore...it just gone too boring, I don't like the super-healthed HECU dudes and stuff anymore. Yep, it was fun to play it 8 years ago, but not now.

Most like EP2 first. Then Portal. Then probs EP2 with commentry. Then like with EP1, go through the entire Half-Life saga, since Id be pretty much hyped for EP3 afterwards lol.
 
Pretty much Episode 2, I don't particularly care about Portal that much. Im far much more excited about Ep2, TF2 has caught my interest though, still ep2.
 
Wow, surprised absolutely noone's gone for TF2 as the first thing they'll play, like how some people I know bought HL2 only for CS. There was a point when I was so hyped about TF2 that I was anticipating it more than Episode 2 itself, but then that anticipation started to be tempered with anxiety over how well it'll run on my aging PC...
 
It looks pretty fun so ill give it a whirl.
 
Going to open portal give it a shot then place 30 mins to an hour of tfc2 and then start Half-life 2: Episode Two and wont stop till i finish. So my vote is ep2.
 
Portal; I'll need something to do while saving up for EP 1 XP
 
I'm gonna play episode 2 first to get all the story btis settled and to check for myself all the cool new stuff that's supposed to be happenin', then I'm gonna play portal to get it out of the way, and then I might play tf2 once or twice (or more if I don't suck at it).
 
Team Fortress 2. I don't give a shit about Ep. 2.
