I have left uni, got out while I could. I mean I figured a degree in computing means nothing to me, while its possible the most boring subject ever created, I wouldn't even be using it as a degree, so what the hell am I doing here?

Parents weren't pleased but who cares lol, signed up to Greater Manchester Police, but had to get a crappy full time telemarketing job since it takes months for the applications to be processed :(

But anyone else considering dropping out? I know it is the best move I have made in a while.

Good for you. Bash some Chav skulls, and bash them good, because they're thick. I wish I could get into the police... Lots of reasons, but mainly - Too much paperwork. Yeah, 'luck with that, or more specifically, keeping your sanity all the whilst.

I don't think I'd ever consider dropping out of university. It's just an amazing experience.

Good work applying for the police force though, fingers crossed on you getting in.

Good luck with the police!

The only reason for me to leave Uni would be if I was offered a good job :p

If youre smart enough for college, you're too smart to be accepted as a police officer.

Then again though, you did drop out. So good luck :P

I would never ever ever consider dropping out though. Its been fantastic for me.

Good job, I'm not going to college/university either.. There's plenty of amazing jobs that require none of that.

Good luck with the police!

EDIT: To me this post sounds sarcastic for some reason.. Keep in mind I'm serious.

I'm sorry to hear that. Why didn't you just change your major?

Well, it's cool he dropped. Less job competition for me.

I'm only suffering through it because I want a job that'll support my expensive automotive hobbies.

Good stuff, it sounded like you were pretty unhappy there so hopefully this works out for you.

I've always thought that if I was a bit more confident (and alot fitter) the police would be something I'd consider. NZ isn't exactly a haven for crime anyway.

Cheers for the comments, and I didn't just change my course because there was just no point, my aspirations in life are to either join the police or should my band get of its feet, go full time in music, so dont need a degree anymore.

All my life I've loved computer science, and then I took electronics in uni. :(

Well, life is long, right? I'm sure there will be some job out there that's meant for me.

You loved computer science, you right in the head? lol

I almost went to uni to do something computer based. Did maths at A-level and Electronics to AS (our high school was too cheap to do a full A-level). Then half way through my final year I realised I'm better at writing than I am at coding/etc. so I switched what I wanted to do entirely. Luckily I was already doing English A-level.

In the end I passed all my subjects, but computer stuff just pales in comparison now. It's good that you actually wanted to join the police force. Let's hope it all works out for the best.

Personally I would never leave uni. Unlike you, I'm not a particulary physical person. I exsersice and all that, but I would make a rubbish policeman. Plus I like uni. Science is awesome :dork:

Good luck, I hope it was the right choice.

You may recall I had doubts when I first arrived at uni, but now I've dug in and am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would have. Assignment/exam results have been a pleasant surprise as well so there's no reason for me to leave. Shift; weren't you in your third year or something?

Nah first, this year ends in about month not including exams but I dont see the point since I have now 0 drive to pass, so that time could be used to earn money.

That's funny, I'm actually going to Manchester to take Computer Science this September after my Gap Year ;)

I live for the stuff. I've vowed never to take up physical activity/go to the gym unless I have to. It's a matter of principle. :p

Ah fairdoos. Uni isn't for everyone and it also isn't compulsory to becoming successful in life either, regardless of all the hype. Good luck with the police work!

Join the army? I would rather live my life, not throw it away.
