Enjoy folks. This is the last launch of the year and probably the last night launch ever. I filmed it from my house which is approx. 15 miles from the launch site.

Enjoy!

man, I love watching those things launch into space. Always gives me goose bumps.

Ohhh dude i saw one launch from Florida man it was a Nightlaunch as well
****ing epic lemmie tell you

Shut up, Kenji. You don't know awesome night launches if it launched up your ass!

I love watching them on Nasa.gov which I did tonight and listening to all the radio chatter.

Can you feel the heat from the shuttle from there?

I saw it too! Launched a few hours from my house and I saw it heading into the atmosphere.

Cool.

Why would that probably be the last night launch ever?

Can you feel the heat from the shuttle from there?

Hahah no. Would be cool though.

<100 feet= The fire and explosions from the SRB's would kill you

<800 feet= The sound would kill you. It would probably be a heck of a lot louder but they flood the launch pad with water to suppress the sound

Cool.

Why would that probably be the last night launch ever?

NASA has never really liked doing night launches ever since the Colombia accident, reason being is it is harder to see if foam comes off from the external fuel tank and hits the shuttle. There also needs to be an alignment of sorts between the shuttle and the International Space Station so the shuttle can "make" it to the ISS; which i am guessing doesn't happen again. That was the first i ever heard of it so i may be wrong.

Wow, cool.
15 miles from the launch site, awesome place to live

Where was that video where the Rocket asploded when the guy filming it was near by, that was pretty epic and I wana see it again.
