is it possible to have 3 different drives in a computer! i have a cd-rom a dvd-rom/cd burner and a dvd burner can they all be operated at once or only 2. please let me know. and if yes could you please fill me in on how to. thanks alot
 
I think so, but wrong forum.


3 cd drives? or 2 cd + harddrive?
 
need more info, does your computer have the wires (?) to connect them all?
 
thats what i think the problem is. i don't think i have enough wires to run them all. where would i go to get the rest of the wires?

ask a computer shop or something, or the experts here. whoever they may be.
 
you can try connecting your third cd or dvd drive to the "slave" connector on the same ide cable as your harddrive (if you only have 1 hdd) then put the other two on the same ide port, with one drive master, one drive slave
 
I have a DVD rom drive, a DVD-RW drive and CD-RW drive in my machine and they all work fine..my PC came with the correct number of IDE cables to attach them all to the motherboard but you might need to buy some if your PC doesn't have them.
