Flying Air Force One on a photo-op (at approximately 250,000-dollars in a cash-strapped economy) over Lower Manhatten, with two F16's tailing it, is akin-to breaking-into a house and robbing/assaulting someone... then breaking-into the same house years later, threateningly advancing toward the same person, and suddenly tossing them a camera.

Cellphone-cams showed dozens of people running which-way-when-for-why, in panic. Another example of Team Obama's amateurish drunk-with-powerism.

Nnnnnngh! Wrong! Obama was not aware of it. These people make these sorts of fly overs all the time in various areas for publicity shoots. Before Obama, and they will after Obama. They've even flown it over Mount Rushmore and other places.

They did not inform Obama, just as no president is informed of every little thing that goes on in the government day to day operation. Key things go to the president. This, to them, was not a key thing as it's just one of their regular practices.

This was a tasteless thing to do though, and Obama acknowledged that and even though he was not aware, he apologized that it happened anyway.

So you, and the rest of the conservatives that are going ballistic over this and pinning it on Obama are entirely misguided and need to shut it.

The 'liberal media' has also expressed outrage over this, as it is justified to do so. The only difference? They are wise enough to realize that Obama is not to blame for this.

HEY GUYS ONCE I READ A SOURCE IN A NEWSPAPER AND IT WAS PRETTY REPUTABLE

Obama is the scapegoat for all of the Republicans' problems and fears.

I'd say this was a stupid thing to do, and the person who ordered it needs to be delt with regardless of Mr. Obama being aware of this shitty idea or not.

something like this would have had more than one person at the helm. someone signs a form, another approves, and so on. You can't just blame one person for the idea, because so many people would have signed off on it. of course though, they'll pick a fall guy and he'll have to deal with the consequences.

It always seems to me that the shitty ideas get approved faster than the good ones. This is half the reason I hate beuracracy.

Lol, New Yorkers.

"Awmawgawd, its a hajackin, ah just knoow eet!".

I guess I can see why people would jump to conclusions, but really, all it takes is to use a couple of the seconds to make your brain work.

For a start, America is so ****ing jumpy about terrorists the chances of a plane being hijacked in the united states is slim.

Secondly, they must have noticed the fighters tailing it, now, I might be wrong, but in this post 9/11 world, I have this impression the minute a hijacked plane heads towards any US city, let alone New York, its getting shot down.

The fact the jets were flying in formation with it should have kind of triggered some brain sparks in peoples heads.

It was dumb not to inform the New York authorities for sure, very dumb, but I am not impressed by how thick some people seem to be.

But unavoidable it seems, we live in a world where having brown skin is enough reason to suspect you of wanting to destroy freedom ect ect.

Actually it's more that nobody really notices the good ones, they only notice the shitty ones.

I supposed they couldn't give a warning beforehand due to security reason, but surely it would have been better just to use Photoshop. Get a pic of Airforce one and put it in the NYC skyline, would have been alot cheaper also.

except new york isnt a person and has no feelings collectively or otherwise. also you might be crazy

insensitive as it is, this would have been funny to see ...any videos?

ya drunk with power, stagering around under the maddening all consuming nectar from the gods that is the power to weild america like a lightening rod to incinerate his puny opponenets. forget the "might" part when I said "you might be crazy"

Yes, because apathy is a great response to something that could be fatal.
A good number of people had that mentality in the second tower before it was struck, and looky, looky they all died

Yeah, stop and ponder the situation-how the **** can you speak for that? Have you been in a situation like that?
It's like someone running down some steps of a building shouting "BOMB", are you supposed to stop and think "Hmm, well, he is pretty young... I think he was probably joking..."
So about eight years ago something happened where 2 low flying airline planes crashed into 2 buildings and killed tons of people, when those people of THAT same city see something very very similar, you expect them to be calm and stop to ponder it's intentions?

Quit being a prick.

Yes, and a shot down plane poses no threat.

Zombie, go out and get a girlfriend, please.

Nurizeko: better than all of us because he's awesome IRL, if you disagree with him you need to get laid.

Aside from the fact you are correct, back on ignore you go, and to think I only un-ignored you a few days back to. :/

Zombie's entirely right.

But he isn't, he is making excuses for people being stupid.

He claims its apathy, listen, sorry to say but this is years after the fact, if a plane is heading towards a US city they are going to know about it.

Then he claims people are incapable of checking their stupidity and taking a split second to notice:

1. The plane isn't flying at any building.

2. It has a fighter escort, unless uncle Sam is helping Jihad Joe, its unlikely to be intent on crashing into your office.

Oh and someone shouting bomb is different from a plane flying around.

Oh shit an airliner is flying low over my neighbourhood, shit shit shit I just KNOW its a hijacking, **** **** ****...oh wait, there's an airport nearby.

Common sense and using your brain takes a second at best, and honestly, if people are so dumb they succumb to baseless panic so quickly it makes them incapable of considering the alternatives, then frankly they deserve to be hit by a large flying object.

when those people of THAT same city see something very very similar, you expect them to be calm and stop to ponder it's intentions?

Yup. Just as I can take that split second to decide that nice brown family on my international flight aren't going to scream Allah's name and blow up my flight.

You can accuse me of being a prick (oh no, insulted over the internet, shit my life is ruined) all you want, at least I aint making excuses for irrational paranoia.

I'm with Nuri.

Not that it makes the incident any less boneheaded, as they should have known it would cause such reactions.

Zombie, go out and get a girlfriend, please.

Why is it that you always use such a weak attack that the person who disagrees with you needs to get a girlfriend or get 'laid', even though it's entirely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

That sounds like a dumb jock move, to be honest.

I am whit the zombieturtle

after all it happened once

Nuri just about avoids an infraction for trollotics since he actually did respond with argument instead of bullshit eventually.
