Yea you know what I'm talking about. The demo levels with the pachinko machine and the other one with the rotating textures. I would LOVE for valve to release these for us to fool around in when the game is released. Who else would?

I emailed Gabe about this, hopefully I had the right email address.

I would as well...but if I had the actual game I probably could care less about the tech demo level...cause, ya know, I'd like to kill stuff.

as much as id want that to happen i dont think gabe would do that. only way to get those if it leaked or they released it after the game. I want total suprise :)

Yeah, but i wouldnt play it anyways. Just cause i want to feel the magic of HL2 in the actual game

even if they didn't release the actual level, it wouldn't be hard for a modder to make the map, dont think its anything too difficult to be done

2 things:

1: At the E3 presentation, they DID say that everything seen would be in the game, so count on the tech demos.

2: I also e-mailed Gabe asking if the tech demos would be available via a main menu, like serious sam. There are freaks out there like me who enjoy just goofing off in a sandbox of physics, so even though a tech demo would ruin the magic for some, it makes everything much more magical for others.

It would be great if they encorperated it into the training mission somehow (now follow through to the next section, passing all the stuff on your way there). Great eye candy if nothing else. :dozey:

PEOPLE PEOPLE!

Remember, there is extensive benchmarking that comes along with the game? It's going to be an industry standard, and where you'll find all those demos we've seen, i'm sure they'll be there for the benchmarking tests. You know those websites that posted their benchmark data? The maps they used were those shown at the E3, including the tech demo etc.

hey cool, then they are being released (I guess)

I know people would rather play the actual game but I think it would be cool to go through them, I would dream that I was playing it when the e3 video was made errr I guess dammit come on, you all know you wanna walk THROUGH gordon made out of water. (plus throw a camera at the G-mans head) personally when I play the game for the first time. Im gonna beat everyones head in with the crowbar (ESPICALLY the g-mans!)

valve will be releasing similar material with the SDK to show how to use everything.
