What the ****. God damnit. Mother ****er. Son of a bitch.

I just watched the first season of Odyssey 5 again, and son of a bitch, I hate not having any answers to anything. The show ends with one of the main characters getting arrested for the disappearance of another main character, and a couple other major plot points. I will never know what happens now! :angry:

This shit makes me so pissed off. At least Firefly had a movie to kind of wrap things up. But this show just ended when it was getting exciting.

I dont care if its been 6 years, I demand they start making more Odyssey 5!

guess you missed the event in life about the writers strike....

I used to like Wonderfalls.

The protagonist was awfully cute. And the show was real entertaining, too.

Did a lot of shows actually cancel because of it? I know they stopped making episodes while the strike was on, but i havent heard of any cancellations.

But yes, I want more of The Office too. Its been too damn long since the last new episode.

Last I heard it was put on hold/cancelled, but still. Don't know the season.

Ma bitchas.

I've been seeing new episodes advertised for Jericho or something lately. Your sure it's canceled?

well usually shows are canceled based on ratings. also why are you complaining about a show that hasn't been made for 6 years?

yea i know man i want more office. thats such a good show and it was getting really good.

Yeah, I know how you feel. It's one of my favorite series. So many questions left unanswered, and they just pulled the plug on it when it was getting interesting...

Arrested Development is the only show that has ever existed that has truly been wrongly cancelled or cut short.

It was cancelled but all the fans went nuts (quite literally, now that I think about it) so CBS agreed to bring it back for ****ing 8 more episodes...how lazy is that...greatest show on network TV in years and they cancel it after one season, then offer another half season to get all the fans to shut up...

Because it was an awesome show that was canceled before anything was explained.

Family guy was canceled for a few years, and Arrested Development should still be around. Scrubs should have ended it on its on terms after season 3, it's gone way downhill.

Family Guy and Futurama were brought back entirely thanks to [AS]..what do they get for all their work? No contract extension for Futurama...

futurama needs to come back. what contract extension for futurama are you talking about?

Adult Swim had a Futurama marathon on New Years Eve...January 1st they were no longer allowed to play Futurama, as it is now only played on Comedy Central...

The list of TV Shows that get canceled 'before they're good' is surely endless? And you're all right about Family Guy. They keep canceling it and bringing it back, but it still hasn't become 'good' yet.

Carnivale, Firefly, Arrested Development and Im probably the only person I know who started following it but John From Cincinatti D: I wanted to know what the hell was going on damnit.

And Family Guy can **** off.

Family guy would have been better served never coming back. The reincarnations suck mostly.

Arrested Development was the shittiest show ive ever seen in my life. I'd rather watch Meet the Spartans.

Yes, that's what I've thought since season 4 of Scrubs first premiered. The first two seasons were especially wonderful. Arrested Development indeed, but Family Guy I don't really watch.

Trailer Park Boys.

It was so good, but atleast it ended on a good note.

Adult Swim had a Futurama marathon on New Years Eve...January 1st they were no longer allowed to play Futurama, as it is now only played on Comedy Central...
They play it on Teletoon every night.

I loved The Mole.

The last half of the third season, where are you?!

Married with Children was hilarious. I'd wish they'd start a new season, though it's been cancelled for over ten years now. I like watching re-runs of the Bundys every now and then.:D

Rockos modern life.
Hell yeah. I loved that one too. :) "I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous"- Filburt :laugh: I want a shirt that's exactly like Rocko's btw. Let me know if anyone knows where I can find one.

Examples:

* Action
* The Adventures Of Brisco County Jr
* American Dreams
* American Gothic
* Arrested Development, although this show managed at least 3 seasons, about 2 1/2 more than most of the others on this list.
* Brimstone
* Clerks The Animated Series, which from the very beginning had basically no real time slot. Only two episodes were aired.
* Cupid; the ABC dramedy, not the CBS reality show.
* Dark Angel
* Dead Like Me
* The original series of Doctor Who is arguably both a Long Runner and Too Good To Last. It was cancelled just as it was getting interesting again after a long slump.
* Drive: three episodes over an eight-day period, then gone.
* Exosquad
* Firefly; see The Firefly Effect.
* Freakazoid
* Freaks And Geeks
* Freakylinks
* God The Devil And Bob
* The Handler
* Harsh Realm: FOX gave this one a harsh treatment, cancelling this after 4 episodes.
* Invader Zim; Executive Meddling was the culprit here.
* Invasion
* Joan Of Arcadia: popular, but in the wrong demographic.
* Max Headroom
* Megas XLR
* Miracles
* My So Called Life
* Odyssey 5
* The Others
* The Outer Limits (the 1960s original)
* Police Squad: One of the grand-daddies of this phenomenon, from the early 1980s.
* Probe
* Profit
* Relativity
* Remember WENN: Ran 3 seasons, but on AMC.
* SatAM Sonic The Hedgehog, which was intentionally killed by Fox scheduling Power Rangers into the same time slot to steal its ratings. Twice.
* Space Above And Beyond
* Sports Night
* An even earlier example of this trope would be Star Trek The Original Series, which was to be cancelled after it's second season due to poor ratings, was revived by a Fan Campaign for a third (and argurably, the poorest) season, then was brought back in a updated form with Star Trek The Next Generation.
* Vengeance Unlimited
* Veronica Mars is right on the borderline, with three seasons on UPN/the CW network.
* When Things Were Rotten: 1975 Robin Hood farce created by Mel Brooks (later inspiring his Robin Hood: Men in Tights).
* Wonderfalls
* ReBoot
* Kitchen Confidential

Exceptions, shows that made it to the finale or are still on air:

* Angel
* Babylon 5, and even then, it almost was canceled before its story arc ended (in fact, it did have to curtail its original 5-year arc to 4, just in case it was). Its spin-off Crusade didn't share this luck however, and was canceled half a season into a 5 season arc.
* Buffy The Vampire Slayer
* Farscape only received a conclusion due to a massive outporing of fan support after its cancellation. During its run, it was repeatedly shifted to various unfavourable (and often unreliable) time slots, and at times ran out of order, by its Australian broadcaster, Channel Nine... which also happened to be a co-producer of the show, creating. (Rumour has it that this, and similar treatment for other science-fiction series, was due to a disagreement between the network's owner, who liked science fiction, and the scheduler, who didn't).
* Heroes, so far, largely thanks to the network getting off its duff for once and promoting the hell out of it.
* Northern Exposure
* Oz
* The Shield
* Six Feet Under
* The Sopranos
* Daria, though some fans claim that MTV tried to kill the series during the third season.
* Mystery Science Theater 3000, mostly due to its simple premise (guys watching movies and making fun of them), low production costs, and loyal fanbase.
* South Park

It lasted too long as it is. Started to get dumb in the final years.

Yeah, especially after they ommited some of the funnier characters. It was almost an entirely different cast by it's end. :(

Exosquad was the SHIT. I still have a couple of the toys buried in my parents' house I'm sure.

Arrested Development is the funniest show that has ever been on TV for me. I'm just glad they knew the end was coming and wrote an ending....although it's also too bad that happened because it WAS going to come back and then the creator said the show had reached its creative end :(

Side note: If they cancel Dexter for some reason I'll be pissed. I love the fact that I find myself rooting for a mild-mannered serial killer, hoping he chops up certain characters even though they're pretty much innocent.
