Valve ARG Continues - Gabe Sends Me Strange Image

It's been a long night working on the ARG...when I got an email from Gabe saying 'test', I replied getting an out-of-office email immediately saying Gabe was sick. Fastforward about an hour and I receive a strange image from Gabe Newell as shown below.[br]

This shit is crazy. I wish I could help but I don't own any of the games or understand anything about code :D

It's Portal related. There has been nothing to suggest a relation to Half-Life.

Going to bed. Looking forward to see what's after happening when I wake up.
 
The image file names are anagrams of "reboot process".

Or space probe perhaps? The messaage seems to be talking about needing more test sujects. Possibly from Cave Johnson (the spelling is too bad bad to be GLaDOS).

Also, Hubert's twitter and Sandy's blog seem to have been hijacked by someone who's at the warehouse. I hope they're ok :(

13 "exclusive" demo levels....I'm calling it... the potato updates was rather big for just a aprils fools gimmick after all...
 
Also, it's very nice that Valve used indie games to start this whole ARG madness. More visibility, more attention, more sales for these gems. Well done, Valve.
 
I thought it was the core for Cave Johnson. According to the wiki, they kept his mind into a computer after his death.
 
A diving bell is a great place to spot red herrings from.
 
Last piece of the bathysphere has been found.

I am so lost how were those numbers translated, everytime I translate them, it come up with dogdy characters?

Oh yeah, just got PCGAMER UK, at the back cover it said there would be a Portal 2 Demo in the next issue, but I don't know if its standalone or if its dissected gameplay from the full version
 
I believe to translate the numbers what you need to do is write the numbers in binary, invert the ones and zeroes, then write them back in decimal and do the translation. The hint was that the colours of the image were inverted, so you need to invert the numbers too.
 
255 (or 256) minus the number that there is = needed char. normaly

Ok the text was given by Doug (see Ratlab) and I don't know for wahts the bathysphere is so Im waiting on Ratlab part 2.
