I recently bought a Verto GeForce4 Ti4200 64mb for like $85 brand new.

I'm just wondering where this stands compared to ATI cards. I'm not really sure of it's capabilities just yet and I wouldn't mind more info about it. Thanks.

well i have the same cards right now (128 though) and i think its great. im not sure what the radeon equivilant but im sure HL2 would run good on a ti 4200. cause for me, on bf1942, and ut2k3 i get anywhere from 60-90 fps with highest settings on. i expect you will be able to get the same fps with a setting in between medium and high :D

The Geforce4 TI series cards are great. Mine runs every game I own with ease.

Here's a link from last year. It might give you a better feel for what you have.
I know x-bitslabs has better articles give it a search. I would though Im tired

Its about 9500'ish, in between a 9500 and 9500 pro. But when you turn up the details its more like the 9200

the 4200 is a good card and i knew the first ones could be over clocked to 4600 levels in some cases, but with some stablity issues.

is your card a SE? also what is your processor speed make and Ram make/size

if you have a 2Ghz comp with some nice 512, it should get about 9000 to 11500 on 3dmark2001SE and will run hl2 with ease

a radeon 9800pro on the same spec gets 16000+, up your cpu too a 3.2ghz and you'll easy get 19000+
