Ok so I had a dream last night where I had to drive to and from my uni. campus in a new car I was just given (in fact right now my dad drives me to and from campus since I'm kinda inexperienced and lazy). The problem was that I was too big to fit into my new car, which was perfect looking, I think it was close to a '66 corvette or something. So what does it mean? I think it might be something like I actually want to drive myself but I can't or maybe I want a fast car to do it in but it's unachieveable (no way I'm getting a new car any time soon).

It tells you to go to MacDonalds a little bit less.

I had a dream that I was swimming in the ocean hunting whales. What does this mean?

you're uncomfortable sexually

It means your losing control of your life and depend too much on others' guidance. Or something.

It means jack shit. If any of this were true my dreams would have ended the world LONG ago.

Dreams do indeed mean things, most of the time. I dream about being in school and not being able to find my class, forgetting my locker combination, being late. That particular type of dream is a result of stress/procrastination as I've read, and I find that to be exactly true as I procrastinate/stress sometimes.

I think for the majority of the time our dreams don't mean anything. Unless its a traumatic dream, its probably just your subconscious having some random fun with thought.

I haven't been able to recall any of my dreams for a while now, which is too bad because they're usually very interesting :(

According to Freud, it means you want to have sex with your mother.

If you want to remember your dreams, its suggested that you keep a journal next to your bed and as soon as you wake up write as much as you can recall about what you were dreaming. The more you do it each morning, the more you will be able to recall.

In fact, by doing this you will actually be helping yourself to being able to experience lucid dreams... which are f***ing awesome.

Sometimes I dream I'm dying :(

I predicted this thread was going to be posted 7 years ago...

It means you are a.) not taking care of yourself. B.) subconsciously worried about your self-image. or C.) you are outgrowing certain things in your life.

Thats my two cents. I'm no specialist though =p

btw: Yes lucid dreaming owns and everyone needs to try it.

I really do predict the future though. It rarely happens, but one very cool time, I dreamt I had a conversation in my gender/sexuality class with people I'd never talked to before.

The next day I had that class, and we got put into our groups. Everyone was wearing what they wore in my dream, and we sat in the same order, at the same desks. We talked about the same things, we all said the same things, even I said the same things I did in my dream. Even the voices of the people I'd never talked to or heard talk in my life sounded exactly as they did in my dream.

And I'm pretty sure it's not a brain-trick deja-vu experience, because the dream had been on my mind the entire morning.

There's nothing more boring a conversation piece than other peoples dreams.

As the darkness slowly gathers
fading where the sun has shone
let us speak of other matters
you can be me when I am gone.

Props to those who get the reference... but I don't think all that many of you will. :D

In other news, Dreams are always more interesting to the Dreamer.

I had a dream I was traveling with Dr. House to some destination (Whatever it was, it was all shiny and awesome.)

When I reached the gates of the destination, a young girl and a small fly wearing a top hat greeted us. The fly attempted to fly into Dr. House's pants (Who was wearing a red/black tuxedo with weird gloves) of course he was trying to swat the thing away from him with his cane while his other hand was grabbing his groin.

He eventually fell over and the fly entered his pants, Dr House was struggling but suddenly felt very happy, the fly flew out of his pants and Dr House stood up in pride. Suddenly his tuxedo was much more vibrant, he was wearing a top hat, he seemed younger and he was able to walk without his cane without a problem.

Some other things happened, other characters of the show were "Rejuvenated" this way.

Other things happened (I never write down my dreams, this is just recalling from memory) but I was at my local train station with various friends, we seemed to be traveling because we had heavily packed backpacks on us. We entered the store selling various candies etc. and a young worker in a blue uniform (Blue tucked in shirt, blue pants, he had blonde hair and a squeaky voice) he was trying to tell me how hard his job is being the guy who restocks the ice creams in the freezer. For some reason, there was a packet of gum, but it was a long chewed drawn out piece in a plastic wrapper, I was considering buying it but I woke up.

So if I don't dream, does that mean my life is meaningless?

Or don't remember them, you know, whatever.

Last night I fell asleep with the song In This Twilight by NIN blaring, which I guess kick started this dream. I woke up in the middle of a city street full of people looking at the sky. At first my vision was blurred, kinda like the effect you get in an FPS when you get shot, are near death, or when a frag blows up near you. As soon as I gained my vision back I could see the Citadel towering over everything with strange alien ships flying headlong into the ground. Behind them was a hand, very similar to the "Presence" just sitting still. After that everything fades to black.

The whole time I could faintly hear the song playing.

Lol once I dreamed G Man was hiring me... It was kinda scary. He said wake up and smell the ashes and well... I did. But there were no ashes. :o

Dreams are simply feedback to your sensory systems from memory compression which happens during light sleep (dreams occur frequently in morning if you go back to sleep)this is because the brain is at a higher level of activity.

Strictly they have no particular meaning but they do show subconscious elements that are important to your psychology, often your worst fears, greatest goals and anywhere inbetween that has any relevance may feature in the dream.
The often random metamorphis of dreams is due to the way long term memory works, it has to be 'compressed' if you like, almost like a zip file, only the important factors have specific detail that is why walking from a room to a room is not noticed in the dream as the corridor element is not important.

You can see the long term memory aspects in dreams as you tend to remember a dream later on during the day rather than straight away, if it was short term memory you recall it instantly.

lol, whys that?

You know those pendulums that move in circles, and draw designs in sand or whatever? Well, what if you jumped in the sand pit and screwed up all the designs and like, pissed your name into it or whatever. That's what lucid dreaming seems like to me. Except maybe I'm scared of something much bigger happenning to me on some sort of psychological scale. I have no idea. But just the thought of being able to control my dreams gives me some sort of feelign of dread deep in my stomach.

Im back, i love dreams... When they last that is. :\ most dreams never manage to finish but some continue the next day D:

Lol Shippi, sounds kinda scarey though. Thing is that if I had that dream I'd be like "wait didn't this happen on that ep. of House?"

Weird

I recently dreamed something very disturbing. Last christmas a girl in my school died in a car accident, i didnt know her very well but i knew who she was and i saw her at school everday. Anyway, i dreamt that i was in some sort of building on either the second or third floor. I was looking out the window and there was a road. A car came and somehow crashed and she flew out of the seat next to the driver, right out of the window. She landed on the street, all bloody and gasping for help. I couldnt do anything, all doors were locked, i wanted to go down there and help her up away from the road because there where more cars coming, she was laying there crying for help when WHOOOM a car came and drove straight over her, mangling her body up and throwing her body further across the street. The another car came, then another one, all mangeling her up even worse till it was just goory, at the same time i was in panic trying to got out of the damn room. Then i woke up and went to school.

I dont know why i dreamt this, all i know from her death was that she really did flew out the window and the car flipped upsidedown ontop of her (she was found underneith the car roof).

Maybe you had an unrequited crush, and your dream is a manifestation of your repressed guilt and brooding over never getting the nerve to talk to her?

not really, as i said i didnt know her that well, just saw her in the hallways etc, not even my grade.

I usually don't remember any dreams from when I sleep. When I do have them, they very rarely have any real content to them. I've only had a lucid dream once, on my way to school in the car. I thought it was really cool. I wish I could have more of them. :(
