I was just thinking of this and wondering if valve ever planned on acctually telling us the full HL story and answering all questions about the series, or if they would just leave us hanging.... NOOOOO ;(

I feverently hope that Valve only furthers the story by incorporating it into future games. Just reading the story would be rather the anti-climax

"The truth...you will never know the truth"

Well they say that a thousand monkeys with a thousand typewriters will eventually produce shakespeare so I guess if these forums just stay on long enough... maybe one day.

Im sure G-man will come and tell us all. But tell us with a spooky voice and then say: The reassson why i tell you this will be obvius when you arive to your destination... *gordon blacks out*
End half life 3

And I bet you just hit the nail on the head. We would be satisfied by being told everything. I beleive the sound we would make would be something like "ahhh so that's why all that stuff happened" then only to be left with a "what's his destination? what...hmmm, I better go on HalfLife2.net maybe someone will know!"

It's the circle of Half-Life!

Im sure some people know already (Laidlaw's drinking buddies...?)

The beauty of HL is not knowing everything that goes on, atleast thats what I think. I really don't know if I prefer cliff-hanger end or getting the whole story revealed. We'll just have to see

One of the things that makes Half Life so popular is the story. The suspense and the mystery. Take that away, and Half Life will lose popularity. Now I would like a few of my questions answered, but not to be sat down by G-Man and be told the whole story. They should throw in the answers for people to find themselves as they play.

yea i think thats a good idea....

I think the best aspect of the HL story is the fact it's so open, I reckon that it will end how you wish it to end, make up your own mind.

So far, if you take in the scope of both games (exclude both expansions that have been released ;) ) we have very little of the whole story. Just speculation.

i just want to find out who gman is, why he choosed gordan, why he put adrian away and thats..um..it for now , i cant think of anymore

Exactly my thoughts. And I think that Valve will end the storyline in that way

Pherhaps, but i still think you will get an explination by the g-man.
But still Get lots of information by others. But nothing clean out, like the conversation with Breen.

I have a feeling the Half Life series will be like the Marathon games: really confusing and full of unanswered questions even after the last game is released.
