Okay: I don't have 60$ right now to shell out for VB6.0, let alone VB.NET

Are there ANY other cheap alternatives to these products for use in coding and compiling with the Half-life SDK? I'm not a huge Windows person, but I don't need C++ help: just programs FOR coding and compiling it on the windows platform.

I would strongly suggest against buying any dev environment for VB (Visual Basic) given that the game is in C++.
