I've just got back from Elvington airfield, drove a Lamborghini Murcielago around the track this afternoon ... I can't describe how it feels to slam your foot to the floor with 640bhp under the hood. Still got a huge grin on my face :D

The car I was supposed to be racing (a ferrari 355) had broken down, so I got to take the lambo instead! Just a tad more powerful! :naughty:

What's "bhp"?

its BLUE HORSE POWAH!!

Don't worry, blue horsies rock.

640 eh? That's awesome. S hould have took video.

Man I bet that felt awesome to drive! :D
I remember my uncle showing me his 4.2 litre Jag. That felt awesome and he wasn't even speeding or anything. Just pushes you back in the chair and you cant move. Bloody awesome. Love it when that happens, I always have a grin on my face too. :D

I've got to admit, I am pretty jealous right now.

I have a grin on my face just from the thought of you driving that car.

Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but you should check out the street racing scene in America. If you have a 400 WHP car you are considered a little guy. =(

I'm trying to build a 600 WHP Datsun 240z now just to stay in the game. (Roughly 850 bhp)

Makes me laugh, still got nothing on my girlfriend's race car. I was wrong though, it wasn't a 6.9 second car, it was a 9.6 second car. 1600 RWHP pulls a little more than that. Given, you can't turn worth a shit though.

OMG, when will people learn that spam is NOT funny? ESPECIALLY from noobs that nobody knows.

I think it degrades the forum personally.

HOLY SHIT, agreed 100%.

Ontopic: What sort of Lambo was it?

1600 RWHP only running a 9.6? That's horrible.

And if it can't turn decently, it's not a street car. I'm talking daily drivers here. :hmph:

i'd imagine 1600 RWHP cars could do like 6 sec 1320's

What are you a race car driver? You have to give more details.

I was always interested in this profession. I'm building a daily driver little FWD beast, taking my time with it.

I'll probably stay somewhere between 350-500 HP & Torque. Anything more is too much for a stock transmission in this car.

FWD is usually the worst option for racing, but it has some advantages too, I've seen them beat anything out there. I watched an Accura integra smoke some NSX's, corvettes, vipers, etc. in some touring car races. And these were all race cars. It depends on the car, the driver, the course, the rules, etc, not just the drive-line.

It doesn't suck, you just need to know how to drive it right. A good setup is crucial too.

I wonder how many people died to supply the fuel that car guzzles...

I want to drive a LP600 Murcielago...how did you pull it off you lucky bastard?

I'm not sure if it was 1600 hp, it was quite a bit though. It isn't a street car, drag strip only. Their daily drivers are quite nice though. '93 'Vette and a '98 Trans Am WS6.

I've seen 4 rotor RX-7s run the QM in sub 9 seconds. That's just a n/a motor. *I'm not sure about the engine itself, but a 3 rotor is a 2.0 liter, and the 2 rotor is 1.3 liter....so my guess, 4 rotor is 2.5 - 3 liter*. Anyway, 1600RWHP doing it in 9.6 is a joke...

Erm, that was a Funny car. Good chance the only eclipse anything in there was the body :p

That thing freaking FLEW though. That's some insane acceleration, and that guy was pretty on it when it came to timing the lights.

"probably 5 parts from an actual eclipse left"

The engine (with all new internals) and body (with tube frame), oh, and headlights. 3 parts ;)

I went to MIR and saw Sean Glazers 8 second DSM. Man what a treat. It looks faster IRL. It hurts your chest it's so loud. It hurts good.

Lol.

Interviewer: "sir, i'm curious to know, how much of that car is what you started with?"

Guy: "The engine"

Interviewer: "Really? That's amazing! So much speed, so much acceleration, and that's the stock engine?"

Guy: "yep"

Interviewer: "Well, pray tell, what sort of adjustments have you made to the engine?"

Guy: "New pistons, new rings, polished everything, new cam, new crank, new valves, changed the valve timing, manifold, etc etc etc etc"

Interviewer: "Wait, but you just told me that it's the stock engine..."

Guy: "Well we left the original cylinder in there"

See crank. See crank walk. Walk crank, walk.

A real mans car has eight cylinders or more!
