Anyone brought it? I purchased it and i've found it to be pretty fun.

The maps are action packed when full and i got a silver medal on my first go.
The little bird/MEC/chinese equivalent are awesome but take a bit of getting used to. The A10 is just ace. Not tried the other jet yet.
The sounds are awesome, when an A10 goes flying above your head its ace. Really pays to have some good speakers up loud here :D

So, anyone else got it?

I checked and it seems so far that quite a few servers were on Operation Road Rage, so that might prove to be most popular. I myself don't plan on getting it.

Road Rage is a pretty fun map, yes. I also like Midnight Sun a lot too.

Well, what do you want to know? :P

Vehicles...
New chopers: Very fast and their guns are very effective against infantry and cars. Hold 3 people and act as a UAV whilst in the air too. Very helpful to have one circling a flag :)
A10: Not very fast but carries 4 bombs, drops 2 at a time. Has a mounted mini-gun on the front which owns infantry to bits.
Not tried the other jets...

Maps...
Operation Harvest: Big map with the flags spread out a lot, though when i played there was a lot of action around the flags and they were constantly under attack. I died a lot :P didn't get to the explore much becuase the map changed. Seems like a nice map though.
Operation Road Rage: Nice bright map with uncappable bases for both teams. Lots of the action seems to end up around the centre of the map, though if the US get control of all of the CP's then it's hard for the MEC to come back. AT's will love this map :)
Midnight Sun: Dark-ish map with a river going through the middle of the map with CP's on either side. Again, both teams have uncap bases. Again, this map gets pretty hectic with lots of battles starting at each CP. Can rack up a lot of kills if you defend a CP though because there are some good choke points where it's pretty simple to destroy the armor. Maybe my fave map out of the booster pack.

Lemme know if there anything else... thats probably not what you wanted to know :P

How are the maps, though, in terms of atmosphere? You might not think so, but it makes a huge difference. For example, I hate Daqing Oilfields with a PASSION, simply because those monotonous grey skies are both quite boring and extremely depressing. Do the maps FEEL like America?

Er, shit. You're in the UK. Right. >_<

I dont know If Ill get this. I seem to have gone off BF2 lately, replaying the HL games.

Well, i can guess what America feels like :P

Well for starters, the Operation Harvest map has greay skies, but at one side they have some really dark skies with the odd lightning strike and rumble of tunder. Look and sounds nice. I think it would have been awesome to have a heavy downpour on the map but i think that would have affected framerates a lot maybe.
Road Rage does feel like an American highway junction to me, the big fuel stations with lorries and trucks toppled over are cool and the highway is littered with destroyed vehicles. The little area of houses also feel pretty American to me. Though not living in America its hard to say. It's a sunny map and it feels like one of those "perfect" days in America that you see in the movies... though everythings gone wrong since the invasion :P
Midnight Sun kinda feels like north America/Alaska to me, and i just realised that's where it's meant to be so ig uess they pulled that off. It's dark on this map but i think that helps, it's easier to hide away from all the action. Hard to explain the atmosphere of this map... I'd say it's pretty hectic though. In a good way.

Hope that helps.

Haven't took any yet. I'll take some next time i play for you. :)

Some screenies... sorry about the crappy quality. Didn't fancy converting a load of png's to jpegs :P

A10:

Midnight Sun:

Little Bird:

Operation Harvest:

Looks like the combine have started to invade America too :P (messed up graphics)

Operation Road Rage:

Look what i got! :D My first expert... got silver the same round too :D

That's all I took. Hope they do you ok. I'll take some more if needed :)
I find the maps fun to play and the new choppers are nice. Not really a jet flier myself. I'll get screenies of the other vehicles soon :)

You know, if they put the 2 booster packs on sale together, I'd probably buy them, but until then, NOPE.

haha QFT

I've been reading up on some BF2 forums and it seems that Mignight Sun is quite the popular map now.

Hmm, that seems pretty cool, but... I dunno...

I must say, it would be amazing if Midnight Sun had the aurora in it :O

It doesn't have the aurora in it... but it's got some wolves howling in the hills :P

I'm gonna pick this up soon. I love helicopters and running the littlebirds gets me excited :)

The littlebirds and the MEC/Chinese equivelant are awesome. Can get some really good speed and you can even beat attack choppers if you can out maneouver the tv-missles. :)

Some friends on TS2 bought this today and they loved it. They tipped the Midnight map as the best and the little choppers are great. I'm thinking of buying it, but i hear i can only get it from the EA downloader. Can someone explain to me how it works, i've never used it before.

You go onto the EA site and log in on your usename (EA username, not the BF2 one) then you purchase AF and then open up EA downloader and log in with your EA account. You can then download AF and install it. While you're purchasing it you also need to enter your BF2 name so it knows which account you will be playing it on. I think you can change the BF2 name five times a month, so if you have multiple accounts you can switch and such.

It's really quite simple. Much more simple than how i explained it :P

Cheers Ren, i'll check that out tonight. If i struggle the blame lies with you! I hope theres plenty of payment options.

Good luck :p

I think they accept all major debit/credit cards. So you should be ok if you have one. :)
