if you are not an engineer, scientist or have some knowledge about fluids you might fail


if you compress any kind of vapor enough you get liquid if at the same time cooling the chamber...the substance changed to a denser form.

everyone knows that water as it freezes it expands. so what would happen if we were to compress water?





meh...i didn't think it would turn out such a dull question at the time it went trough my mind...so yeah, if you're into this shit, have a go at it. otherwise i'll just forget i ever made this post, but i can't delete it because i spent 5 ****ing minutes making it
 
The expanding water ice would increase the pressure in the chamber by increasing the effective volume over that of water. It might create a positive feedback loop in which the expanding ice would increase the pressure in the chamber, and produce more ice.

That's what I was going to say, but I don't know for sure. If you try to compress it, it just pushes back just as hard. I mean the pressure at the greatest depths in the ocean can crush a couple inches of steel or some shit, so I don't see how you could.
 
I'm pretty sure water and any other liquid is compressible, just a matter of how much force you're putting down, once you compress it'll just get more dense.

anyways it is possible to compress water into ice, however, the amount of pressure needed is astronomical. the reason it expands as it freezes is because water forms a hexagonal crystalline structure, which takes up more space than the "bent" water molecule.
 
I would imagine it would make a kind of cloudy ice........ really dangerously explosive cloudy ice!!!

The plot of Doom is great. Like in Doom 3: We are colonizing Mars but demons from hell enter through a dimension portal.

It's the story that sucks.

i'm not sure if you really can compress water to ice....maybe in a very dense water form but not ice. as in the structure ice we know

But I'll bet it was fan based or profit based, years after the game came out. I don't remember any story while playing Doom 1 or 2. Don't make me re-install it.

This just in: water the strongest substance known to man? You can surely crush diamonds. But what about Graphene? It remains to be seen.

We must take some Graphene to the bottom of the deepest ocean. It's hard to imagine that water could crush it, being 1 atom thick. BUT - could Graphene compress water? I doubt it. Hmm

I think I have just discovered another way to split atoms.
 
In between the chapters, doom 1 and 2 had brief story updates. That's how people know the story of doom.

Base on mars, demons start appearing, one guy kicks ass through the station and dies, then kicks ass in hell until he kills satan or something. Goes back to earth where demons are invading, repeats process basically.

Depends to what pressures you are talking about

At that point, it is possible to change all of the substance to ice, water, or vapor by making arbitrarily small changes in pressure and temperature.
 
Water is ordinarily incompressible, with an exception. If water is put under huge amounts of pressure it will actually assume its crystalline structure and become a sort of unfrozen ice. I remember seeing on the history channel this planet they found the size of Jupiter made of almost all water, and they made that point.
 
I want to clarify what I was saying earlier. First, there are specialized fish that live at the deepest parts of the ocean. The reason this is possible is because they don't have oxygen coursing through their veins. They have some specialized way of oxygenating their blood.

Obviously there are rocks and all kinds of things down there that are doing fine. The reason things get crushed from the pressure is if they contain a lighter gas, like oxygen.

Anyway, so there isn't a deep enough ocean in the world to truly test it's crushing powers. Also, M.Bision's Physcho Crusher.
