On monday I'm getting a free butterfly knife, and combat knife (Which for some stupid reason is illegal in Canada, and I guess it makes it more illegal that the one I'm getting is stolen :\ , I don't feel guilty if I'm not the one who stole it.), and I just wanna know if any of you have a butterfly knife, and can do tricks and stuff... I'm not gonna try tricks with it, I'll probably cut my hand off... I'm just curious..

Who all are you rolling with up there Dog? Or is it just more for the sake of having them?

My brother loves butteryfly knives. (Also known as Balisongs)

I strongly recommend you get a practice blade to practice tricks with before you try them on the real thing.

Also, can you give a link to info or pics? How long is the blade?

Hhahhaha, vegeta lectures on pot-smoking but not on illegal and stolen butterfly knives.

:smoking:

I remember when I was younger, I had a switchblade. I was like, six or summat, and tried to do tricks with it, like throwing it up in the air and catching it, spinning it between my fingers. Oddly enough I never got cut doing that...I did end up cutting myself with it though, when I tried to cut a cookie in half for a friend and I. I was holding the cookie in my palm and cut downwards with my other hand...slashed open my palm, hehe.

Nowadays I collect swords. Not much of a knife fan (has nothing to do with that incident, really).

First of all, pot is illegal too, and far more dangerous; and secondly, what difference does it make that his knife is stolen in relation to my lecture?

For your information, the point of my post was his safety.

It's kind of a collecting thing, I'm not really a collector, but I am, y'know? I have a few hunting knives and things like that, but I'm not a serious collector.

First thing, if I do even think about trying to do tricks, I'll wear leather gloves and do it all veeeery slowly.

And I don't have pics or anything, I'm getting it in two days, it's stolen so I don't really know anything about it.. sorry :(

BTW, My brother got a switchblade (where the blade comes up out of the handle, not out of the side) when we were in Florida, I couldn't believe he got it past the border, my sisters boyfriend got a butterfly knife across, also.

Eh? I just saw your post and it's in the right thread :p

Ok, it's almost impossible to do tricks with leather gloves :p

And even if you are trained and comfortable, accidents will always happen. Practice knives aren't very expensive, and you can be as daring as you want with them. And they are also legal :P

The knife which was stolen, was one used to murder somebody.

Have fun carrying it around.

My friend has a few boxes full of knives. I think he had over 1000. Had a couple swords too.

He threatened to kill me a lot...

No, I trust this kid, it's acually his brother in the military who got it.

and far more dangerous

Hilariously, I think there are many more deaths and injuries caused by knife accidents, stabbings, etc... than smoking pot or dirving under the influence.

and secondly, what difference does it make that his knife is stolen in relation to my lecture?

Vegeta is angry :afro:.

So how do you know it's stolen? Was it from the war? Was it stolen off a dead man?!

My friend just said "It's probably stolen, My brother got it from the military" those are his exact words.

LOL @ marijuana being more dangerous than knives. Good one!

Marijuana vs. Knives..

It depends on who the person is....

Now, if it's a pothead with a knife, he's just asking to die.

More like a drunk with a knife. The guy who's flyin's just gonna hold onto that sucker or put it somewhere and forget where. No energy or motivation to chuck a knife around LOL

Yeah no duh knives are more dangerous that marijuana, but I'm talking about Dog's knife and his uses.. Nothing else is relevant in this situation. I'm pretty sure Dog isn't a murderer. The worse Dog can hurt himself is very small cuts. Smoking pot can cause brain damage or other shit. But let's get off that topic, I don't know why TheSomeone brought it up.

TheSomeone, how exactly can you tell if I'm angry or not with text? It's hard not to sound angry in a debate, without smiles. :D Perhaps I'll use more :D If that makes you feel better :D

veg, you never struck me as a happy guy :|

Im Jk LoloLoLololOooLOLol!!1!1!!

I get in arguments too easily :(

I'm really an optimistic guy, but that doesn't mean I don't like to argue. I absolutely hate it when people tell my I'm getting angry, because I'm really honestly not, I have yet to think of a way to make myself seem more calm on a forum, I don't know why people assume I'm angry when I use bold or caps, that's just for emphasizing certain parts, not screaming or anything :p
Ofcourse when I say I'm not angry, I sound like I'm lying, and I can't win!

Good luck with the knife Dog.

Hhaha vegeta, you're overthinking it. I still like you a lot, whatever you think or me, or whatever the tone of your text may imply.

Do you? Haha, I remember you storming off on AIM one time, and I thought it was over.
I like you too.

No that doesn't happen. Extremely prolonged usage can cause a bit of short term memory loss. That means guys like Cheech and Chong probably forget more often where they put their keys. This is far from brain damage and it takes a lot over a long, long time.

Alcohol is probably several times more dangerous to the human body than marijuana when taking in all factors. I'm not talking drunk driving or anything either decision wise that'd make alcohol even WORSE, this is healthwise- but even then in moderation it's not a bad thing.

Moderation's the key and if you're smoking weed or drinking or eating or anything, if you do it in moderation and don't overdo it you will be A-Okay.

lol, I use my "made in spain" butterfly to get hard skin off the side of my toe :P

Ok.. Thanks Rakurai :p

If I had to choose between risking getting small cuts or having to hide something from my parents, and the law, at the risk of getting arrested, and causing memory loss, or something which in my opinion is one of the most horrible things I can think of, altering my mind and the way I think, I'd take the small cuts any day of the week.

I am NOT continuing a discussion on this in this thread. I suggest you do the same.

Please :(

If you lived in Canada you would say otherwise! D:

Well damn if you're dealing you might have to worry about that. There isn't a risk of getting arrested smoking say partying or something. You can wander up to a cop high and they're not going to do anything but laugh unless you're being disorderly, as it's not a crime to be high only possession. I'm not saying don't take the knife or saying you might get hurt I was just saying that marijuana is far from dangerous and it's very misleading and stupid to say so.

It should only be used responsibly and when under the influence you should take the same cautions you would when say drunk. Don't drive, etc. Trying to make it into something it isn't though is just dumb. I'm not trying to get you to start weed because obviously you don't want to so you definately SHOULDN'T. Only if you wanted to. But don't try to discourage others from it using false claims like a major health danger factor. Use legitimate concerns like "I think you're too young or too irresponsible to use this" or just make sure they're staying safe.

A switch-blade is not the same thing as a butterfly-knife. With a switch-blade, you press a button and the blade springs out. With a butterfly-knife, you flip it over and the handle swings over the top, revealing the blade.

And also, I don't think butterfly knives are ever used for violence. They are built for doing tricks with.

I think switch-blades are more built for intimidation.

Did you ever see the movie Transporter 2? I think it's in that movie where there is a really amazing buttefly-knife scene. Could be a different movie though.

Both of them are illegal here though, but I've owned both. I have to say that I have always loved switch-blades myself.

Yeah, that's a movie :p

You would probably be laughed at if you pulled out a butterfly knife in a fight and did a couple flips with it, lol.

I just watched 'Big Trouble in Little China' again. I totally agree with you on that one. Ah, I love that movie...

Ya that movies awesome

I dunno about that knife thing though, if you pulled it out and knew how to use it id be pretty scared.

I am aware of the differences between a butterfly knife and a switchblade. I was merely relating a personal story about knife tricks in a thread from a guy asking about knife tricks. As I never owned a butterfly knife, I posted about what I had. As Burt Gummer once said, "Doin' what I can with what I got."

I agree with whatever vegeta said. :p

And I'd like to add, that smoking pot may not be as harmful as shooting/stabbing yourself in the head, its uh.... immoral and uh... illegal.

WTF. How is it immoral?

You should just get a kick ass steletto instead. Those things are bad ass (blade pops straight out of the top.)
