I think the basic old school feminism is a good thing and most people would call themselves feminists if it were only about the original values....but these "hardcore feminist that are talked about in this video are a human cancer.

Although I do agree with the start of that, feminism is all about playing the victim. If they spent their time making it socially acceptable for men to take time off work to care for their children as they did bitching about getting benefits society would be much better.

Men have more to win than to lose through feminism. The changing gender norms that it brings allow men to, among other things, be more emotionally open towards themselves and others, and to take a greater part in their children's lives and be better fathers. I cannot see why any intelligent man would oppose that. It's true that some feminists are opposed to porn etc., but very few are actually talking about banning it, any less than atheists are talking about banning bibles.

Yeah anyway this is called third wave feminism not neo feminism. The "old school" feminism to which unozero refers is the second wave; it addressed the issues of the time (70s-80s) when men actually did need to give up certain privileges to allow women a more equal playing field and all, but it's largely irrelevant. In fact, most feminists don't actually hold those views. Yeah um SPOILER: what many people think of as the "majority of feminists" is actually a strawman. If you want to know what issues current feminists actually address, I'd recommend The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. It's an engaging read (esp. if you're a fan of magical realism) and someone nice has typed up the whole thing for you right there so you have NO EXCUSE
