$20 off with promo code EMCYXZR53, ends 9/15

$99.99, free shipping. Sale ends today.

Along with the Samsung features we've come to expect, this drive is even higher density. High density allows 2 terabytes on only 3 platters, making it cooler, faster, quieter, more reliable, and more efficient than previously possible.

:Note this is a 5400RPM drive (so don't put your OS on it or something that needs to be fast as possible).

I was waiting for the F4 - it's been available for like a week or two at most, so this is a great ****ing deal. I was going to wait for a bit of a sale, but this is better than I hoped for. I suppose Newegg wants to get a handful of good reviews before putting the price back up. Just wish I had sent in my work invoice last week instead of leaving that shit on my desk, because I'd buy 2 or 3 for TV shows, n shit.

It will be just fine for photos, movies, music, TV, and even smaller games that fully load into memory.

Great to backup your data too.

No problem.

Hmm I would need 2.3 tb to hold all my DVDs if I ripped them to the drive (movie, 1 audio track, no extras).
The drive is not big enough...

But I might have to dive in.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some 3 or 4TB drives. Seagate has a 3TB drive, I know that much.

I was just searching for more info on these Samsung F4 [EG]. People are reporting that these things are pretty fast for 5400 RPM drives. They are faster than all of the other 5400RPM 2TB drives currently available, and they are quiet and cool, as I expected.

The 7200RPM Western Digital 2TB Caviar Black is faster, but it's louder and runs very hot - 10 and 15C hotter; they put out a lot of heat, affecting the temps of other drives, even "peeling stickers" ;P. Thus it really should be actively cooled (and not in an external probably), whereas you shouldn't have to with the F4EG. Not to mention the WD is about $179.99.

No official reviews or benchmarks out there yet, but I think this is the best consumer 2TB HDD for storage and media available today.

You Americans and your sweet newegg deals.

Jealous.

If you truly want one enough you can transfer money into someones Paypal, they can buy it, and ship it to you.

Although by the time you pay for postage from the states you could probably pick it up cheaper in Europe.

Just finished installing it.

I'm getting ~90MB/s transfer speed. That's about 35% faster than my oldest SATA drive, a 7200RPM WD 500GB (00AAKS). And it's 4.5C cooler at 28.5C.

So, extremely good for a 5400RPM 2TB drive. Wish I had more o dem.

Jesus, how big of a HDD do you really need?

I have an external 250gb HD for my porn alone.

We always need more.

Care to order one for me? :D
I need a new mouse and keyboard before I get any more HDs. My 500GB isn't even half full right now.

dam, okay, i guess if they dont ship to se asia, it means there would be no warranty for my region anyway so forget it.

and what makes you think that just cos i live in the se asia region, i gotta understand chinese, i cant read anything on that site lol

Well, I didn't assume you did. I know so little about Singapore, it's probably funny what I do know. I only know its relative distance from China compared to North America so that's why I suggested it.

Here's what I know about Singapore:

One of the least corrupt democratic countries in the world. (Saw that in the news)
My brother flew there to work when he had his career in electronics (around 1990), so I assume it's a cutting edge technological society.
Day/Night pretty much opposite of mine.

Even cheaper. $79.99; free shipping
