Looks like Nintendo are going all in to try and make the 3DS appealing, while further disregarding early adopters. At a press conference today they announced the 3DS would not only be getting a portable version of 3/Tri (the version seen on Wii, with some tweaks and additions), but would also be the platform of choice for Monster Hunter 4, which is seeing "larger, more open environments and even some platforming."

Oh, and this thing:
-- which is retailing for the equivalent of about $20 US. It requires it's own AAA battery, which may or may not provide a bit of extra battery power to the unit itself. In any case this seems like a stopgap measure until they release a revised version... although it probably won't be "lite" this time if they have to make space for another stick.
They talked about some other games too, but nothing strikes me as particularly interesting (another Animal Crossing, woo). Anyway, Monster Hunter doesn't have a huge audience this side of the pond, but this won't exactly hurt the system's success in Japan if the past is any indication. Personally, this just made it a little more appealing to me... if and when they release a revision, anyway.
