So we got a new router the other day and i just noticed this shit on my computer:

wtfvvg.png

For some reason my computer automatically connected to the family network, and gave access to all my documents and my ****ing DESKTOP for everyone to view without even notifying me. I had SHITTONS of uncatagorized porn on my desktop. I have moved it to another hard drive now. So how the SHIT do i disconnect myself from the network, but not from internet? It seems to be combined into one now, wtf?!?!?

Shit scared the hell out of me, first my mom catches me wanking, next shes gonna catch my porn? Jesus ****ing christ. Using windows 7 btw

Afraid I don't know how to help, but I hope you realise this is damn funny. :-D

What was all that porn doing on your desktop anyway, dude?

I dunno if this will help because I honestly don't see how a new router would force you to share files.

Start -> Network -> Network and Sharing Center

Turn off "Public folder sharing"

If you don't want to share anything turn off "File sharing"

Then check what you are sharing by clicking "Show me all the shared network folders on this computer" down the bottom.

^ That's all for WinVista, I dunno if anything has changed for Win7

Either you kill your pc with a hammer, or you disconnect the modem until you got the porn in a safe location :)

ok so i just ****ed myself over by panicing. I hit the wrong button and totally ****ed my internet up and i couldnt connect at all no matter how much i tried, so i just formated my computer (the OS hdd, not the porn ones lol) so now it works.

Operational, i tried doing that but its still there :S

You formatted your computer because you made a mistake somewhere? Why not just retrace your steps and undo what you previously did.

What "wrong button" did you hit?

I hit a "disable" button which completely eliminated all traces of a network ever being connected to my computer, and it didnt turn into "enable" afterwards. No matter how hard i tried to set up my internet again, my router REFUSED to accept my connection.

I got so pissed i just said "**** it" and formated.

EDIT:

hm ok now it the shared option seems to work, thx.

What OS you using? Looks like either Vista or Windows 7. I don't know what Vista looks like compared to Windows 7.

If you were in the network and sharing center...

You probably clicked on the "Local Area Connection" link of connections under your default adapter... and then clicked disable here.

That would have removed the item from the visible list... resulting in this...

To solve this, you could have clicked near the left on this...

And enabled it again from this list of adapters... which would have saved you from having to reformat your computer.

You so funny Ravioli!

Well, pfft...i knew that...i was just...you know...checking if you knew that. :cheese:

*bangs head against table*

next time il cool down before i make any important decisions.

So... what's the name of your F drive? ;)

You mean G, F is reserved for floppy drives. I just blanked that one out because it had my porn-nick name that i use on porn sites, which id rather keep as private as possible :cheese:

I should probably rename it.

Check your mom's shit out, she probably has some too.

I don't care who you are, but that is ****ing funny. :bounce:

OK, I'm serious now. Right-click folder where your precious files are, click "Share with" and choose "Nobody" assuming that you either using Vista, or 7.

Good Luck.

You would still need your password before you're able to connect to your PC. Unless you don't have one, in which case everyone can just turn on your PC and browse your porn while you're out.

So you have sharing off now I take it? You should be able to still have sharing enabled (if you ever want to share something later) while having your "stuff" not be. Probably not a good idea to put it in the basic "My Documents" or "My Picture" type folders either.

You changed your floppy drive letter from A to F? (A: and B: are for floppies normally.)
