Just thought I'd say: you're all fantastic people , and thanks for making this forum such a joy to moderate.

when you get to college/uni you'll see just how bad school was, so autoritarian, college is refreshingly casual, 1st year anyway :p . Die school, die.

highschool i believe. it was his last day of highschool i think, not dropping out. hes just finished.

I've been done with the semester for the past few weeks, so I've been laughing at the foolish high school kids who are still in school.

so he's going to college?

Hes finished his college A2 course, now hes taking a rest, then he'll be off to uni ;(

hmmm A2 course? what's that? like a university prep course?

No, you do two years at college, im in my first year (As level) second year is A2, and hes just completed his exams, i only knew he did his maths ones. But now hes done both years thats college over, and Uni is the next step or you can go work obviously. methinks hes off to uni sadly, but staying in contact :D

oh ok but after highschool can you go directly to university?

think so, why?

because education is everything ...seriously if I could do it all over again I'd pick a career that pays me the most amount of money

hehe you sound like shakermaker last night in my conversation with him. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need A-Levels/Highers (Scottish) to get on degree courses, which you can only get at sixth form/college (the next step up from our equivalent of 'high school')

Hell...if I could do it all over again I would...wait no **** that.I ain't going back to high school.

you can always go back as a "mature student" ...dont know if they have that in your neck of the woods but here after the age of 21 you can apply to university as a mature student (meaning you dont need highschool to get in)

Well sadly I ain't 21...

Also I gotta get my GED first..which I plan on doing in a few months.

sixth form? A-levels? what the hell is that? sooo confusing ..ok here's how it works in canada

grades kindergarten (age of 4) to grade 8 (age 13) is called elementary school

grades 9-12 is highschool

after that you can apply to a 4 year BA course at university or you can apply to a 2 year college course ...of course there are alternatives but that's pretty much it

well good for you ..as long as you dont give up :)

Primary school (5-11)
Secondary school (11-16), GCSEs
Sixth form/College (16-18), AS/A-Levels
University, Degree

That's the usual order
