Its a cult. A one way pyramid scheme that takes innocent peoples minds and deludes them into believing that Scientology is a religion that has all the answers and then takes them for as much money as possible. There was a south park episode dedicated to Scientology that outlined exactly what scientologists who have been sucked into the cult believe. The name is HIGHLY misleading, it has very little to do with science, study, or knowledge . . . past the use of a lie-detector & science-fiction book as it's basis.

It's also very dangerous, in some cases people have died or been killed. Most often people lose TONS of money, are forced to distance themselves from friend and family members, and even forced labor.
