I'm assuming you all know of the case where the 15 year old boy was stabbed to death and all..where he refused to be challenged with a fight, and was attacked and killed

LONDON (Reuters) - The mother of teenager Jimmy Mizen, who died in an unprovoked attack at a London baker's shop, described on Monday how she had been shielded from the horrific scene by another of her sons.

Margaret Mizen ran to The Three Cooks in Lee, southeast London, where an attacker had slashed her son's throat on Saturday, a day after his 16th birthday.

Police said his killer had smashed his way into the baker's shop wielding an advertising board. Mizen bled to death in the arms of his older brother as they waited for help to arrive.

Terrible.and he was a rugby player. The attacker actually smashed his way into the bakery and then attacked him, cutting his throat. One of the saddest case of violence ever..

I figured I'd share this sad story with you people

Should be in the depressing thread.

My younger brother's turning 16 this year.

The similar thing happend in my town recently:
There was this gang that had their "outsiders" (guys that wanted to become a part of the gang). The gang orderd one outsider to beat up or insult some freak. What they didnt know that that freak was like "on the edge of madnesss" but he was hiding it,trying to stay quiet as he can.So one day that freak comes in the schoolyard of that outsider and STABED HIM to death...very tragic, the entire Serbian community is still shocked...

Things aren't too great over there are they?

No knives were involved supposedly... what the hell did the attacker use?

Well Americans are not really helping by recognizing Kosovo

Ha, yeah what a **** up. Then again, the situation isn't really helped by those who violently protested against this chanting "Serbia!". Breeds contempt for their side. Kosovo should remain Serbian imo, what do you think? I wont think less of you if you don't think so, so dw lol :p

I heard living conditions and employment conditions are still shit over there. Apparently the only people who are rich are those who have either: profitted from others misfortune, or those who have stolen from others.

Serbia has 2 provinces (Including Kosovo) Kosovo and Central Serbia ARE Shitholes. But Vojvodina is much more advanced but it isnt ideal. The reason for Serbia's slow advancement is that the Radicals (Srpska Radikalna Stranka-Serbian Radical Party) And our "loved" prime-minister are holding us back from entering the EU.While the Democrats and Liberal are for full EU membership.Due to the war in the 90's the hatred between Croats and Serbs has grown to very high levels. And that hatred is what the Radicals want. (Actually they hate anything that is not Serbian (Exept Russians)) And YES Kosovo is Serbia.

I think it was a shard of glass form when he was breaking in, a day after his Birthday, died in his brothers arms absolute ****ing tragedy :(

Such terrible thing to have happen.

Margaret said it was pointless being angry at her son's attacker.

"There is so much anger in this world, and it is anger that has killed my son.

:( :)

Bugga mate. The missus was born in Herzegovina, lived in the mountainous countryside before the 94 war, then moved to Belgrade when her father and uncle died in the war. She reckon's that there are two sides to the debate, EU brings in the profits, yet assimilates the natural and histirological independance of Serbia into a foriegn union (i assume she meant this was like Serbia remaining independant of USSR communism during the cold war period. that's what i got out of her spiel anywho) . Do you think Serbia should be shifted for the EU? I know a lot of people from back home who believe that Kosovo should remain Serbian, and that the Albanian muslims should shift out. Maybe it's not the best approach, i also know a group of Albanians who reckon Kosovo should be split. The missus reckons that if Albanian Kosovo wants independence, then Serbia should give them full independence by shutting off Serbian supplied electricity and food...etc.

I'd like to hear more about it if you have the time, if you want to talk about it.

Where are all the tasteless jokes? When did hl2.net become seriouslife2.net?

Stop bloody depressing me

This is true. I was more saddened by this sotry than when I hears that 100,000 had died in Burma, or 10,000 had died in China. That's just the way the mind works.

I was actually shocked at how many people were joking about the other thread. It seems some people just lack the ability to empathise unless it's written out like this to them. But that's where a good film becomes good, even if it just is about some guy's life.

very sad :(

my younger brother is 16, i can't imagine what this would be like

the reason why this story is a million times more heartbreaking then the burma and china incidences is because they were caused by natural disasters...this kid was completely innocent and had done NOTHING, yet another HUMAN (having his own conscience and making a decision to do this himself) broke in and slashed his throat for no apparent reason.

Natural disasters don't "choose" to kill thousands of people, it couldn't be prevented in a sense. This attacker however did it out of his own black heart and chose to murder an innocent victim.

Another thing, i don't understand how the mother said that there's no use in being angry...maybe that's what you feel after such a horrible thing like that has happened to you but i think the attacker doesn't deserve anything less than the death penalty, we need to send a message to other fuks that society isn't going to take this bullshit anymore

So what you actually feel sorry for is the inhumanity of the killer?

"Victims don't get any fame."

Would you be quite as horrified if the same man had gone on a rampage through the streets of China, killing hundreds of people?

initially no, but if i stopped and tried to think about each one of those people individually and how each of them had a life, family friends etc, then i'd start to feel a fair amount of sympathy just like the boy who died

FFS, this argument is stupid.

They're both hilarious.

I think Akira is exactly right in saying this.
That's all I've got to say on this subject really!! :P

Damn. My younger brother is 16 too, he got beaten up pretty badly just recently as well. Some drunken idiot he was camping with got him on the ground and just laid into him for no reason at all. Apparently if the guy's friends hadn't stopped him it would've been a lot worse... as is he had some ****in massive bruising for about a week. Frightening stuff... (didn't stop us having a laugh at his expense, of course :D)

There's too many people in the world to empathize with all of them. That's why I limit my empathy to what I can see with my eyes in front of me. I don't give a hoot about the pictures of starving kids on TV. I know that there are thousands more where they came from.

What a ****ed up world. What makes it worse i was listening to Massive Attack - Angel and reading this. It seriously got to my head...

I just heard that in Slovenia, three 12 year olds RAPED a girl (13 or 12).The one was doing her the other two were holding her...creepy
