I'm going with D; They were too lazy to port it themself, so they used the HL:I steampatched BS and saved themself "a lot" of work.

And I agree with Samon, the awesomeness of the game makes up for the shortness, even though it would rock if it was much longer and included more pre-resonance cascade securityguard/handyman work.

I played it round a friends house. No money, no pain. That's the same philosophy i'll have when the Steam version is available. I wonder what will happen about the models? At least some of the models will surely have to be ported over (Rosenberg), so I wonder if Valve will shift the whole lot? Hated their G-Man model though.

Oh God, that was probably the worst HL model I ever saw. It looked nothing like the G-Man. More like a freakin' mongoloid apish figure in a suit.

The alien grunt also looked ridiculous, with its swollen head. And I never liked the MP5 being replaced with the M4. In fact, the only thing I liked about the entire Hi-Def pack was the new vortigaunt model.

But seriously, filling out your catalog of games with all your old titles seems

Valve are nice guys that want us to enjoy ourselfs, there the oposite of EA, and now that EA is their publisher they will be corrupted, HL3 will be fantastic and original, then HL4 and 5 comes out and they're almost identicle but with new guns and levels and slightly tougher enemies. Then 3 expansion packs come out in 1 year followed by a new Half-Dead game staring Barney every year which is a third person action game that completly rapes the plot until it's a blood pulp.

No it was origanly extra levels in the Dreamcast version(similar to Decay) but the Dreamcast version was axed so they released in onto the PC.

They were armed with MP-5s because before the USMC (Uncle Sam's Migrating Chimpanzees) adoted the M4A1 as their close quater combat weapon they used the MP-5 (The chage, in my opionion, was a bad move). One thing I didn't like about the MP-5 was that it had a 'nade launcher on it because it's just silly (ok, so you could possibly get a GP-25/30 on it but that would reqire big modifications and russain "caseless" grenades).

I think they should have armed the marines with the Colt mod .635 SMG (which the USMC also used) because that would be much easier to mount an M203A2. Also, it still uses the 9x19 Para that the MP-5 and Glock use. It felt weird having an M4 using the same ammo as the 9mm pistol (I would say Barreta 92F but i'm not shure about exactly what they used to replace the glock in the HDP)
