Which class will you be playing first?

What did you expect? The outcome was never really in doubt.
 
I'll probably wait a couple of days like I always have come updates. Just till the initial craze have settled. Then play some sniper/spy. Try getting the achivments.

I might fight the wave of spies as pyro spraying everywhere.

Maybe a week or so later, I will get my spy and sniper achievements
 
Medic, if only to fulfill my submissive/sadomasochistic 'experimentation' fetish.
 
Probably Pyro with a bit of Soldier and Medic.
 
Spy, then I might test Sniper.
 
well with the obvious influx of spy/sniper players I'm probably going with the ideal counter class for both of them- the scout. gonna be some easy kills.
 
I've always been a bad Sniper, which is odd because i love classes that require precision, so i hate Heavies, Pyros, Demomen, and pretty much anything that's just is to spam the area with lead or explosions. Thats why Spy has always been my best choice, and after the update, there'll be even more reason for that. I guess i'll have to get around the Sniper sooner or later, maybe get used to him, but i'll likely never use him for more than getting unlocks and if we ABSOLUTELY need it. Spy however, i will not use nearly as mercifully.
 
Demoman, if I play at all. I'm still waiting for the Left 4 Dead weapons DLC...
 
Have we been told if the 'Huntsman' is really part of the update, or just part of the Sniper/Spy update?
 
Hmm, a difficult question indeed. I have been okay using the sniper, so hopefully with all the newbies wanting to be the sniper as well, I can get a few easy kills.

The spy is a class that I have always really wanted to try, but never really had the stones to in fear of failing hard with it. I doubt it would be smart to try spy right away, given that so many people will be playing as them there will be few people playing as offensive or defensive classes, so I might wait on that.

Along with the sniper, I plan to use the pyro class a lot, simply to get rid of all of the pesky spies.
 
Pyro, its my main class anyway.

Don't see a point with the sniper update anyway, the SMG is infinitely more useful for how I play sniper.


Don't play spy enough to warrant the new toys.

Think I'll get the achievements later, too many easy kills for my preferred class to miss out!.
 
I'm not sure. Spy would be my preference but I hate being Spy when there are other Spies on my team. Same for the Sniper except for different reasons (if I'm having a bad run as Sniper while there are other Snipers on my team I feel like I'm letting the team down).
 
Not really Operational, someone has to absorb all the sniper bullets.

You would be an old man by the time you've downloaded the current updates, let alone the new updates that will come along as you age horribly and withered at your by then dinosaur computer. :imu:
 
Looking around, I'm starting to wonder if they will be adding the sniper items....looking on the right side of www.teamfortress.com, it states..

The Spy Update (5/21/09)

The Pyro Update (6/19/08)
The Gold Rush Update (4/29/08)

They renamed "Sniper Update" to "Spy Update"...does that mean that either..

A.) They are just putting the Sniper unlocks on hold
or...
B.) It was all a farse, and just for show.

I'm going with B...I was hoping for both getting released at the same time :(

Update: Valve's Doug Lombardi has confirmed to us that the update will include both the Spy and Sniper unlockables.

Well, this is the FIRST time I've seen that link :)

Stupidity is not what I experienced. More like 'ignorance'.

God damn it I can't wait to get broadband so I can play TF2 on my own account (I play it in gaming cafés sometimes. Not so much lately due to exams). By then all the unlockables will probably be out and I can enjoy a stream of new(ish) weapons for a while. As it is I've only ever used the Blutsaughter.
 
So, what does all this mean for the sniper udate?
 
I will probably be my Pyro, I'm about half way to 1 million pts of damage achievement too!
 
I'm taking advantage of the free weekend version. First class will probably be the Scout.
1. He's from Boston. So am I.
2. He's fast. For me, speed always beats brute force.
3. bonk.
 
Near 60 odd kills and 17 deaths.

Good game as a Pyro, plenty of spies as I predicted, unfortunately I got so bored of constantly spy checking I left after that game.
 
i play scout I got hit with the piss and for some reason I think kept purposely killing himself because everything I would attempt a double jump he the direction would change and wham...he's dead

maybe I didn't that on purpose.....****ing spy kept playing dead on me....I FELL FOR IT!!!
 
I think I'm done for now. Even my regular server usually has a total of 4-6 spies/snipers per team. Pretty damn fail on most maps.
