Now with the summer coming to its end, spiders are seeking shelter to survive the winter. Sadly enough the bastards are invading our home.

A few days ago I had this type of spider (not the spider caught on the picture though, that was taken at another occasion) crawling on the walls while I surfed on the internets. Not fun cleaning up the mess afterwards.

We also have smaller, but still pretty big, completely black spiders roaming about. They are the most common.

About a month ago, while my father was in the garage, he spotted a huge brown spider utterly crushed in-between the door into the garage. Seeing that with my own eyes was quite a shock because we aren't very used to see these huge spiders in our town, at least not in our freakin' neighbourhood.

Oh, the blood was fresh so he must've been there for no more than a few hours.

Anyone else getting their home raped?

I nearly fell off my chair with the shivers after those pictures. I hate 'em. There was a beastie one on the stairs in the house in London I was in the other day though. Beastie. Was 'orrible.

Actually, yes I am. I run into 1.5 spider webs a day. Most annoying.

I don't mind spiders when I can see them and they're moving slowly.

It's when they come from nowhere, running irratically that they make me freeze with fright.

I don't know what it is about spiders, they're just insects. Like flies with two more legs and no wings. There's just something about arachnids that make them so much more evil than other insects.

You wouldn't believe the sheer number of black widows living around my old house. It was basically a ****ing breeding ground. Don't get too many spiders around here though, despite a forest being right outside the backyard. The ones that do get inside the house are usually rather large and are brown/yellow. We also have alot of big black/yellow/green garden spiders, at least I think that's what they are. There are these really small ones we find along the walls outside that have these "shells".

Thats exactly how I feel. Its when they surprise me is when I freak out, other than that I dont really mind them that much.

Similar to Bryan and LePobz, I don't mind the little critters, infact they get rid of the flies around here!

they scare me, especially he ones with long legs, i don't mind little ones though.

Oh, don't get me started on roaches. D:

that brown spider is ****ing huge.

I dont particularly get freaked out by spiders but yeah i see how they can be scary. Whenever i happen to look at the discovery channel i love to watch the Spider specials, that and the Ant specials... ants arent scary at all but damn their way of life and all is awsome to watch.

I'm an arachnaphobic, so when I see spiders, I get tense. We've recently had a rather large spider found in the garage *sadly it got away* it was a good size, about 6ish inches in diameter. Then lots of radom little ones crawling on the walls, webbing themselves down in front of my face, shit like that. They don't pay rent, they need to GTFO.

I don't think spiders are really scary at all... if they're crawling on your face, yeah, or if you wake up in the middle of the night to one crawling on your arm as I've done, they can freak you out pretty bad. Ants, though... *shiver* They come in the thousands, huge swarms, all over the place, the surfaces quivering with them. And then somehow they amnage to get on you without you noticing with their itchy little legs... bleurgh *freak out*

are you serious? ants really scare you?

Anyone seen the "Driver Ant" special on the discovery channel can agree with me when i say thats some cool sh!t.

It migyt be a brown recluse spider... be careful those are highly dangerous. My brother caught a wolf spider or something in a camdle thingy and it popped in the flame LOLZ! OWNED!

On a related note, what is the name of the type of spider that's basically an orb with really long legs?

I dunno, but one came through the window the other day and just perched on my windowsill.

I don't mind the odd small spider, like theres 2 in my room now but there really thin ones that are hardly noticed. Only the other day, though, I was in bed reading and there was a small-ish one making his way across my ceiling in all these different directions. I let him be, but I kept looking at it every few seconds always, and staying to myself constantly ''thats right, you go that wa--, no, go towards the wall, not here, go... goooo...'' and stuff. Still creeped me out, but not in a really bothered about trying to get it out kind of way, as I said I let him be.

That's a big spider!

Well see spiders are not insects. That is why they scare you! =p
But yeah they can catch you off guard or you can have fun smashing them.

I only have average sized spiders around here. Some wolf spiders and other web kinds (funnel weavers). I always see a number of spiders scatter on the cement when I walk out the door. This is probably the biggest kind of spider I've seen in person.

I live in the country, there are always spiders in my house, I've even seen a few Black Widows.. (I'm pretty sure they were, they were black with a red marking on their ass, and it looks like a Black Widow from what I've seen on TV..).

Moths are the freakin annoying things, open my back door 1 time, and about 3 moths get in and fly around my lights.. F***ing annoying.. In fact, moths are more annoying then spiders!

Agreed! Damn moths need to be attracted to the moon and not my house lights.

oh wow, we have those exact same spiders all over the place, never indoors though. We always called them "crab spiders" I burned one of their webs as a kid becuase I thought it was really creepy looking.

That's why you keep them good ol' spiders around and you won't ever seen them moths again!

Im not going to be able to sleep after seeing that picture of the megaspider. I saw the first one and was like "hmm. pretty ugly little bugger"

Then I scrolled down and was like "hmm, there is barf in my keyboard now"

"Daddy Longlegs" or something. At least, that's what my parents told me it was called when I was six.

But seriously. **** spiders. **** **** **** **** ****. I hate them so much. If I ever find a spider in my house that's not in the basement, I'm getting a ****ing fumigation going.

:( *shivers*

You sound all too much like me.

I kill all spiders in my room. However I do let Daddy Long Legs live. They don't come inside our house and are always on the outside of our house at night. There pimpin.

You got huge spiders man.

Im so paranoid about spiders in my room when I sleep that I kill spiders even outside. Im always thinking "well, if i let his one live, one of its daemonspawn kids will probably move into my room and then crawl all over me when I sleep.

I have to kill all that I see. But it takes a lot of time for me to build up the courage to go after a particularly ugly or large spider. Sometimes I will just watch it for 10 minutes, too afraid to attack, and too paranoid to let it out of my sight.

I hate spiders because they make spiderwebs at head-height in the path to doors.. I do the morning paper so I'm always the first one to clean them up with my face.

Sounds like lord of the flies :D

Suck....I used to be so deathly afraid of spiders as a kid, that when one day I ran into one, I blacked out, and the next thing I know, some friends are yelling at me, trying to stop me from clawing at my face while I was screaming, "GET IT OFF GET IT OFF"

It was bad.

And if I see a spider in my room one day, that night, I'll try to sleep, but keep feeling it on me...paranoia ftw.

Heh, usually I'm not great with spiders but my first thought was "cool!" :D

Those tiny spiders are fun, you get a bit of their web on the end of a pen and lead them places! Like a leash!

Spiders rule, they're all over the place :D

Cane spiders ftw!

Unless it's rly a brown recluse, then you're pwnd.

BTW, that pic of the big spider? PFFT, nothing. I've seen way bigger running around my bathroom while I was taking a shit.
