You know those game cards, like yu-gi-oh, magic, and ect.?

We watched a video on their so-called immorality () and other bull, today.

And, our student moderation administration teacher told us (The Student Moderation team - i think you guys might call them... prefects?) to "destroy or turn in any cards that you find".

Why?

'Cause it's demonic and immoral.

Ok, great. I destroyed and turned in some $50 worth of game card contraband with my fellow teammates. It was kinda sad seeing the first years cry as I took away their cards. I had to warn them not to bring any more to their sad little faces. (EDIT: I mean that I returned the cards and warned them not to bring them again, for the most part anyway.)

But of course, rules are rules, and I have a job to do. This goes on my Neh Sin (permanent record thingy that goes all the way from first grade to Uni) grades, my 'services to the school.'

Though, I find the reasons for destroying them unjust, to say the least. Demonic?

But, most of the teachers are very christian. They're always trying to convert students, and say things like "You'll go to hell if you don't believe in god."

Ah, well. There will probably be more people to bring those cards tommorow.

dude,Korea is Nazi Germany with asians lololol

seriliusly,something is wrong in S.Korea.

that's so mean, why didn't you just tell the kids to hide them for that day? you didn't have to destroy them. i bet their parents who paid for them are gonna come and bloody gut you. nice one making small kids cry and blindly following the rules.

Um... I wrote that wrongly, I did for some, and didn't do so for others.
then why would you follow unjust reasons?
you're not a robot.....I hope

Cause it is my duty to do so.

Since when is it your responsibility and duty to punish the weakest and most vulnerable members of society?!

Its hard to tell if he is serious, but If he is, then he is the most gullible brainwashed Korean I have ever talked to.

Kind of bold of you to compare burning Yu-Gi-NO cards to Hitler Youth, Mr Wolf.

Just read some of his other posts.I know alot about how the HJ worked, its starts out with fun n' games and taking care of younger Member and stuff.Numbers is indoctrinated by his Goverment.
a mere tool of a polictal agenda.

btw.....its starst with burning cards...books.
Then you burn people.

Correction! I never burned them. I merely threw them in the trash or handed them to the teaceher. Of course, I had to show some leniency on the 'rare' cards.

Yes, I'm a mere tool of a political agenda...... because I enforce the school rules?

Oh yes, I'm gonna burn down jews now.

Numbers, the problem is you are enforcing rules that are stupid, ignorant and a threat to the free world. If you let these fundementalists get away with this, they'll go further. You are actively enforcing such an unjust thing. Maybe your duty as a prefect says you should. But what about you duty to mankind?

Pokemon got banned from my elementary school after a kid stole my holographic charizard D:

Yes, but there are other reasons, good ones. Like "it disrupts your studies" and "introduces a atmospere of bartering into the school."

It's not like it's a law. It's a rule, a stupid one, at the school. Some of the teachers may be fundamentalist, but the others are still against the cards for other reasonds as well.

whatever, you made kids cry and took away their perfecty innocent little hobby. i'm done with this thread.

I remember pokemon cards. The older kids kept stealing cards of people, it was great.

Kids are kids, cards aren't demonic.

One of the major parts of school is social interaction. As long as it's kept under control cards aren't that bad. In my school all cards were banned cause it was getting out of hand, any cards were confiscated and returned at the end of the day.

Actually taking things is really horrible, for most kids the cost of buying cards is a major chunk of their income. Sure keep them out of the class, give them back at the end of the day and warn them to not bring them.

You're a very strange guy, Numbers.

By the way, I did see that the whole demonic art on cards thing is subversive and whatnot in most of Asia, as opposed to S. Korea. And to be honest, this happened in my school, in Sydney, once. [1]

[1]But the principle caved in to parent opposition, because their kids were being annoying.

Just reiterating.
I've read some of this guy's posts lately, and I'm not even going to bother. It's sad when people refuse to stand up for themselves just because "authorities" tell them what to do. Personally I would have told them to go to hell. I went to a catholic high school, and, while I respected their beliefs, I refused to take part in any religious things that we were expected to take part in that I didn't feel comfortable with.

lol! and you claim you're not brainwashed ...what do parents think of this? surely there must be some rational koreans who see this as nothing more than censorship/idiocy

Thus Numbers learns a valuable lesson about authority.

Or not, as the case may be.

I tell you, Numbers, today it's cards and toys but tomorrow it will be people, human beings - subversives, communists, whoever the government de jour decides is the enemy of all society. They want to make you compliant; they want to make you complicit; they want to make you one of the oppressors so that you'll be loyal as long as thank god you're not the one being oppressed. Why else would your 'services to the school' - apparently translatable from Fascist to 'blindly following orders that meaninglessly prosecute a helpless minority' - be put on your permanent record and effect your acceptance into university? They're conditioning you. Scoff if you will - it's only cards! - but mark my words, it'll only get bigger, and bigger, until it's only communists, only atheists, only fat people, only gays, only the scum your society feels it can do without!

You say it was kind of hard seeing them cry. Anticipate also the tears of those about to die. Stop now, while you have a vein of humanity left in you.

Realise your mistake before it's too late!!!11

there's already a system in S Korea that allows citizens to report suspected communists to the government ...I'm assuming they're arrested and sent to jail ...or to the re-education centre

Call 112 (Police), 113 (Military), 111 (NIS), 02-333-3434 (KANSPC), ect.

But wait! They're all emergency agencies! Gasp! Just like the terrorist hotline in the UK!

Anyway, this is kinda shit. I'm gonna stop taking contraband away. Who the **** cares if it's 'demonic'. Stupid christians. Bleh.

The problem is that now I'll prolly be 'stationed' in field patrol instead of hallway if they notice that I get 0 cards while the others get 20.... :/

Field patrol, in the rain or sun.....

Wow, how complecated. When I was elected a senior prefect all I did was sit in the prefrect room with other prefects and occasionally when a lower schooler would come inside becuase he was dared we'd throw things at him, and throw his schoolbag out the window ect.

Good times that...
I miss school ;(

Well, I'm not going to get into all this "today school rules and tomorrow you'll be an unwitting pawn of your government, doomed to carry out whatever horrible tasks they bestow upon you because you've been brainwashed ever since you turned in some kid's YGO cards" stuff. I think you're all jumping the gun way too prematurely here.

But what I have to say is, I absolutely cannot stand rules that're unjust, and I far-and-away cannot stand bullshit religious decrying of things fundies think are "demonic." People need to wise up and realize that D&D, Harry Potter, or and Blue Eyes White Dragon aren't going to steal kid's souls and deliver them on a silver platter to Satan. If we should be saying anything about brainwashing in this thread, it should be about religion brainwashing the masses into believing this tripe...but I digress, for I don't want to open up that argument.

Furthermore this story bothers me because it reminds me of a story from my own childhood, when teachers took away our fad at the time: pogs. We'd go out on the blacktop and arrange into circles, and we'd play for keeps on pogs. We were organized too, man...it was like a kiddie casino, what with different "tables" (circles) you could go to, weigh the competition and the bets (certain areas were like high-roller sections where you'd bet a fat stack of pogs, others were very little)...it was awesome. Then the teachers swooped in and started giving us crap like, "You'll put an eye out with slammers!" and "We don't want to encourage gambling." But I tell you what, it was our money, our recess, and we were orderly and EVERYBODY got along in those days, long as you had pogs. And then we get our fun taken away from us for stupid reasons.

F that, man. Numbers, just think about if YOU were one of those kids. All they were trying to do was have their little card battles; they weren't hurting anybody. And then you gotta go in there and cough up their cards to authority. I know you probably feel bad about it; I'm not trying to rub it in. But listen: following school rules that make sense is one thing, but acting on a stupid rule like this? You oughtta through it right back in the administration's face. Reason with them. Try and get them to see it from the LOGICAL point of view.

And if that don't work tell 'em that if they take away the kids' cards, Beelzebub will come like a thief in the night and cast them into fiery pits of brimstone and rend their flesh from their bones each morn, only to heal them every night, and continue this torment unto eternity, and no amount of praying will save them. That'll shut 'em up but good, I tell you what.

lol, contraband ..man you sound like you stepped right out of McCarthy era 1950's ...in fact I'm not entirely convinced you're not a part a secret Korean program where they frozen the creme de la creme of uber patriots in the 1950's only to thaw them at a later date to bring order to the troubled youth of Korea ..you should have invested in a little start up company called IBM before being frozen

do you get your own baton and stun gun?

I wish. The people who try to get out of school during lunch are somewhat insane. I had a girl throw books at me and threatened to call her boyfriend over because I wouldn't let her out for not having a pass. I couldn't do anything, 'cause it's kinda... not moral to hit girls... although that is sexist....

You can say whatever you want as long as you aren't saying "I love Kim jong il! Communism is awesome!"

I worked with a student who strangled his 4 pet rabbits in one sitting when he was 6 yrs old ..he'd also do a motion with his finger towards your face when he was angry ...when asked what he was doing he'd say "I'm slicing up your face with a razorblade"..and he's not clinically insane

I couldn't do anything, 'cause it's kinda... not moral to hit girls... although that is sexist....

glad to see you have some moral convictions (albeit barely) ..and no it's not sexist ..no one should be physically assualted ..especially for something so stupid as disobeying a hallway monitor ..if I were a parent at your school the very first thing I'd do is grab you/the principle/teachers by the scruff of their neck and threaten them with a severe beating should they ever lay a hand on my children

You can say whatever you want as long as you aren't saying "I love Kim jong il! Communism is awesome!"

or else? imprisonment? beatings? hot poker in the eye? bamboo shoots in the fingernails? ..in other words, no you're not free

Huh? I thought that was the english word for illegal material.....

no not really it means anything that's imported/exported illegally

I cannot believe this thread.

Numbers is completely full of crap. Demonic cards banned? Honestly, do you think we're that stupid.

Numbers tell us some real stories for once.

15357, you're basically the guy in school averyone hates aren't you? the goody goody, teachers-pet prefect that tells on people and stops everyone from messing around and having fun. why would you choose that?

because they try to get out of school?

No, because they uh.... actually, they aren't, but they're the ones that you'd call 'dropouts'.

I mean, as in self-defence. You aren't supposed to hit girls.... even if they're trying to smash your head in with a 300 page book.

noooo

I think he's typical of S Korean teenagers ..I could be wrong but I suspect Numbers is the norm

No, because they uh.... actually, they aren't, but they're the ones that you'd call 'dropouts'.

some kids dontdo well with education ...let me clarify ..the education system fails some children ..btw are learning disabilities recognised in your country?

I mean, as in self-defence. You aren't supposed to hit girls.... even if they're trying to smash your head in with a 300 page book.

it's not defense if you're hitting someone

so what happens? you tell me, I'm genuinely curious

here they do the same stuff whit the yu gi oh cards
however I dont know if there was a masive burning or stuff like that
pokemon was considered demonic too, infact everything that the kids likes that is not about jesus and cross is considered demonic

i don't live in a backwards religious fundamental nazi country with an ironic description/sub-title, so we were allowed small peices of card when i was in school.
