No idea what you're talking about, but is it similar to this?

And what about religion?

Bwhahaha, i wont bring that debate into this thread.

Do whatcha will. Heck I play D&D. But I gotta laugh every time i see someone larping.

Well, I have no problem if someone has a religion, as long as they don't enforce it on others.

It's not like these guys force LARP on people, so what's the problem? :)

MAN-FAYE!

Srsly, you should be able to do what you want if it's not hurting other people.

Some cosplayers hurt my eyes... and my reality matrix. It sometimes causes me to question nature, or sometimes makes me want to puke.

But in rare cases, it's actually nice. Like that Len + Arcueid + Satsuke (melty blood/tsukihime) cosplayers that I saw downtown.

*drools*

*shoots self*

Cosplay is fine, it's their hobby so let them enjoy it. The few times I've seen it in person didgive me a good chuckle though, but it's all in good fun so why not?

I think we can all agree on the following.

Cosplaying is not as bad as furries.

Cosplays? Like...Bill Cosby?

I for one would love a decent Half-Life zombie or Tiberian Sun Nod soldier costume.

People are free to choose their interests. Heck I've done it.

Please don't judge me. ;(

I bet ya that the people that bash anime cosplay go to star wars conferences whit theyr toy lazor blades and leai costumes "reenacting" the movies

Eh, as long as it doesn't effect me, why should I give a ****?

what if it's a girl and she looks really hot?

them the bashers will take the first pokemon costume they see

basher: omfg that girl whit the white wig is so hot
*looks at kid whit pokemaster like clothes(cap, jacket, bagpack)*
bahser:matanga*takes costume*
kid:muaaggg
*disguised basher go next to girl*
basher: hey baby want to lick my pokeballs
girl?:<man voice> dude I am sephirot
basher: what the.....?!!

Hey, making a zombie costume is a lot different.

I will admit though, if I get around to making a Civil Protection Costume, I will go to down to the Mall and boss people around while holding a stun batton

Different? The title of this thread talks about dressing up as computer characters, which is exactly what the Half-Life zombies are.

Well its a lot different because those people dress up like those characters because they want to be and act like those characters.

When I make a zombie costume I know I am doing it for an artistic reason rather than "lolz, i wish i was a half life zombie, i am going to act like them everyday, and wear it everyday" It's basically just a prop.

As opposed to some kid who dresses like some dude from Final Fantasy, and actually acts like the character everyday. -Thats silly.

I mean, I love half life, but I would never intentionally grow a go-te, get some nerd glasses, and not talk at all to be like Gordan Freeman. Thats silly

That's a gross generalization. Very few cosplayers dress up out of some desire to BE a character. Extremely few. Most people dress up because it's fun, because they like that character. Not because they want to be them.

That being said, dedicated cosplayers try to remain in character while in costume. I once met a Venom cosplayer who had a replica Spider-Man 3 movie Venom suit; I mean either this guy bought the actual prop or he was a master craftsman. Either way, this thing must've cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Dude played the character PERFECTLY. Like, this guy WAS Venom, down to all the little mannerisms. I'm sure he had no desire to be Venom though.

What a completely asinine generalization.

Dude, you watch anime. You should know all the best stuff happens on Mars; that's where you go.

I wouldn't intentionally go round bashing cosplayers, seeing as they're not actually hurting anyone. It's just a little bit sad, that's all. I suppose when you get obsessed with something enough (as in LIGHTNING BOLT!!! LIGHTNING BOLT!!!), you can drift away from reality a bit, and forget the pleasures of real life. Such as they are.

well yeah, but I am saying like, sometimes just to goof around I walk and moan like a HL2 zombie in my school hallways. Believe it or not I am actually very good at it.

But if I knew someone who dressed like Dr. Freeman everyday in a labcoat, and said very little. That would be weird.

I guess its how far you take it

Umm...yes. I know just what you mean *looks around nervoiusly* but just incase some people don't know what you're talking about *looks nervous again* can you please tell me...I mean others what these pleasures are incase there are those who don't know them.

*notices people looking strangely at me*

What?

... No. No, I can't. :bonce:

I know a lot of intolerant people who would disagree with that :(

Personally i'm with you

"I hate only two things: People who are intolerent of other people's cultures, and the Dutch!"

I have respect only for that one guy who wanted to go to space dressed as Char Aznable. The rest of the Cosplay community freak me out something horrible. Mind you, dressing as characters is better than those types who dress and role-play as them.

Bizarre and freaky but it's their lookout.

Basically:
Who cares?
