Wich card for H-L 2 ?

Hi,
Im considering upgrading and i gotta choose between these two card, which one would you recommend (needs to also run doom3 and far cry) ?
- ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb 256bits
- Asustek V9999TD (Nvidia 6800) 128mb

Well, I think the v9999 costs like 100$ more, but you get alot more for it than the Radeon. I have the v9999, and it works wonderfully in hl2.

It is a bit more noisy than my geforce ti4600 card, but is still doesn't bother me at all!

Oh yeah, I got 3330 score in 3d-mark 05 with it. With an athlon 1800+, 512 mb sd-ram and an agp4x motherboard...so i think it's a really good card for the price it costs.

The 6600GT is better than the 9800 Pro but not as good as the 6800.

Of the two that you cited, there's no question that you should go with the 6800.

custom PC gave the g6800 the best overall out of the top end cards, i personnaly am looking at it too, as im currently on a ti420064MB!!!

The 6600GT is about 90% of the performance of the 6800, yet the same price of the 9800pro ... it's a bargain.

It's a seriously powerful card considering how cheap it is, wipes the floor with a 9800pro so it'll be fine for half-life 2 and beyond.
