i just had a chat w/ gtwy in #hl2arena, and he's redoing his site, and he's gonna have an update tommrow. Here's the chat:

Heh, well to certain people it really does translate into an extreme period of time.

People get so pissy when someone just asks a simple question, that happens to be one that was answered before... kinda' irritates me when people get so pissed though.

It's not like they've never made mistakes, right?

ya.. i figured it was.. i had seen bits and pieces and what not but not the whole thing, anyways i really havn't been around much cause i managed to fry my HD.. new to me i guess

Gtwy is an ok bloke but what you have to remember is that like the rest of us he has no real information nor, in a sense, can he get any.

A site like his can be dangerous, the ability to spout speculation and rumor to hundreds of followers can act as an effective weapon.

Some of the information on his website is of interest, things like "does x really exist", "when was x released" or "where was x first heard about" but the chat logs with myg0t and other fifteen minutes of fame wannabies provide little accurate information that can be proven.

Take it with a pinch of salt.

Heh, just looked ( quickly skimmed it ) at the website.. "we attacked the wrong board" or "this is X's personal information" .. is that for real?

Yeah D33, when I read that exact same thing about what they'd/he had done I felt that they/he were being quite immature...

But I would have to come to the assumption that now everyone can be perfect 100% of the time, right?

His little page on the web holds power over hundreds of sheep who take what he says letter for letter. With such an audience he should be setting an example, not using his page to tell people to "attack" forums on the internet. My respect for him just went down a few notches.

Odd, I was thinking of the exact same phrase, "My respect for him just went down a few notches...".

But I still have respect for him, because in the first place he stated that he wasn't even doing this for the public when he first started the site... but still, it is pretty interesting to see what people say and believe after they see what exactly some of the sites like that have evolved into.

yeah, that was very inmature of him...but no one is perfect. heres the latest from his site-

im doing a face lift of the page and compiling a bunch of information. expect it up in the next 2 to 3 days (by saturday night, EST)
