Some time ago I was in the Vorti camp right before Nova Prospect and just for the hell of it I hit the "dummy" with my crowbar and some blood marks showed. Then i get to the part of the Bugbait training where i throw the bait at the "dummy" the antlions run up to it but dont attack. So this means that that "dummy" was alive and i gave him a mecy killing.

They attack either way I've tried it, I mean he has to be dead - he's practically impaled on the pole. I can't remember and don't fancy trawling through Sandtraps to find out
