All the different MW2 topics are driving me nuts. Now there is even a re-re-count of who is getting the game ffs. Enough is enough so Samon will now take on the gargantuan task of merging all the different MW2 threads together.

tl;dr
Everything CoD:MW2 goes in here.

Samon should just delete all the threads including this one and infraction anyone who mentions any Call of Duty game again, ever.

I should receive it tomorrow, for the PC. Now, should I bend over and let IW have its way with me, or show some spine and send it back? Oddly, I'm feeling like some assrape and leaning towards the first. I'm sorry, but I'm weak. I mean: I enjoyed CoD4 on the 360, which was limited just like the PC version of MW2 is going to be. Then again, this is about principles and other developers might follow where IW went. Oh, who am I kidding?

* bends over and takes pants off *

Heads up for people in the UK, Sainsbury's are selling the game for £26. I may well purchase it for that price.

:O

That makes... no sense. None whatsoever. I mean if they are that's cool, but I've never even seen a shitty arcade re-imagining or Wii game be less then 30 quid in Sains. Will inspect tomorrow when I go for my weekly shop...

It's true, but only while stocks last.

Crazy. Any particular reason for the ridiculous price?

Heh, I'm just thinking back to what I said a few months ago about how prices differ from place to place. Silly people thinking everywhere sells games for the same price.

All the supermarkets are having a massive price war over the game, all trying to outdo each other. Asda and Tesco also have their own deals on as well. Seems you only lose out if you actually try to buy it from a dedicated Games retailer. Lol.

edit; nevermind seems like it's not even 9v9, it's 6v6 if the game works at all.

cool story bros... ill just go back to TF2.

Wonderful. After downloading for about 18 hours straight at my maximum speed of 150kbps or so, I was at about 80% and on schedule to play when it unlocks tonight... but instead, Steam decided to delete the pre-load files for no reason and make me start over just now. Beautiful...

Steam:

Anybody know when this is going to be unlocked or able to be activated? I've heard all PC copies are activated via Steam.

I know Steam is saying the it unlocks on the 12th, but is that just for Steam-bought copies or all PC versions?

English Retail has just gone active!

The Steam retail version just unlocked for some dudes on a Dutch forum.

So close... yet so far away...

These last few hours are killing me. :x

Apparently the supermarkets are selling it a massive loss but w/e, fuk the major retailers and their 60+ euro bs. Apparently Tesco are the cheapest along with Harvey Normans in IRL.

Btw any word on which console is superior? Presuming 360.

at work I counted roughly 380 copies of the game, only 6 are for PC, lol. we also have 18 COD xbox editions

but yeah i can't wait till tonight when i get my copy. i did hear the stats online reset tomorrow at 8am though :(

The first game was near enough identical cross-platform, except for obvious online handicaps, so I'm guessing this one will be the same. WaW was better on 360, but I'd imagine that was down to rushed development.

So I just found out a real whopper after buying it from Steam. It looks like if you bought the game for the PC you must activate it on Steam and can play it on the 10th. For people like myself who bought the game on Steam, we will have to wait until the 13th. Good job Valve. This is the last time I bought a major game from you guys. :)

That's pretty daft. Perhaps a clause in Activision's deal with Valve dictated this so that Retail sales (especially pre-orders) wouldn't be effected? Or perhaps it's just part of the tasty Activision PC sabotage conspiracy that everyone wants to die for.

Where is the logic in making the pc players wait?

Nope not going to get it for IW being a bunch of you know whats.

Why contain it? Let it spill over into the schools and the churches, Let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end, they'll beg us to save them!

I have a bad feeling this game is gonna be like COD4.

After a week, people will have found all the glitch spot, the campers will have their corners and the grenade spam will be aggravating. More so want this for the Singleplayer. Anyone know if theres a zombie mode/terrorist hunt?

Got the game yesterday and beat the campaign today, was very fun. Went into one Team Deathmatch game, there are already mother****ers that are rank 70 (the highest rank) and the game isn't even out yet.

Interesting. The price is dropping over here, and I don't think it's even out yet. It was about $50 an hour ago, and now it's less than $43.

Oh wow, first I've heard of this, but I just checked on the Steam store and it seems you're right. That's... questionable. Has this been the plan all along or is this some kind of concession Valve has made at the last minute?

TWO HOURS AWAY OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

This has happened before. It's a not-so-subtle nod to brick and mortar stores that probably involves a fair amount of cash.

Speaking from a UK perspective, I'm wondering how that works at all. We don't share any of the US retailers likely to push for that, and any UK retailer buying into it would have known that their worst competition was going to be from a supermarket. So why push the digital worldwide release date back?

Elsewhere, it has been suggested that it's simply an infrastructure thing. Steam just plain getting raped by every PC copy of the year's biggest release trying to squeeze through at once.
