TV or new computer?

So what would you guys do? I'm looking at buying either a new tv for my ps3 and Blu ray player (at the moment I'm using a CRT tv which just doesn't do justice for the power of the almighty ps3).
Or a new gaming computer as I'm using a 3 year old PC and it's becoming impossible to even load some of the current game titles.
Willing to blow about $2500 AUD.
Suggestions?

Well if you get a decent monitor you might just be able to hook up the PS3 to that and enjoy both worlds.

I managed to get a 42" 1080i tv for around $800 at Best Buy, and building a great computer won't run you more than $1500. Get both.

I'd say just go for whichever you use more. Have tons of PS3 games/Blu-ray movies? Get the TV. Want to play more PC games? Get the computer. I doubt you'll regret either so long as you're going to use it a decent amount (except maybe the computer when it comes time to upgrade again ).

My computer is my TV and I don't own a console so I suppose I can't offer any insight into your problem.

I play the computer a whole heap more then the ps3 but only because i can't stand looking at the TV for too long. I plan to get both at some point but it will take a lot of saving up. Also if I were to go TV first I'd be going for an LCD full high definition 1080p TV. So that puts the price up a bit. =\

Well.. New computer would be a lot cheaper.. Yeahh ok. I'll look into it. I can get an epic computer for a bit under $2000. I suppose a new TV can wait another 6 months.

Actually...build computer for around $1000-1200. Buy yourself a Black Magic capture card for $300 USD. Play PS3 games on your computer.

for 2500 AUD you can do both. Get a 40" TV and build a comp. Then you can plug the comp into the TV with a DVI -> HDMI adapter.
