Care to back that assertion up? Saying something like this, especially without any legitimate attempt at providing a source or scientific support to the statement, is akin to lighting an American flag on fire at the Republican National Convention. Cannabis kills brain cells, but so does pretty much everything to some extent, and it for damn sure doesn't kill close to as many brain cells as our good friend alcohol.

Hey, dude, I said nothing wrong. Evidence has shown that deodorants cause Cancer, but what can you do? I'd prefer Cancer than being bullied for smelling badly.

The following article backs up my claim perfectly:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/october/2/newsid_2540000/2540141.stm

While it's 30 years old, my comment still stands.

Doing what you suggested would be suicide. What I said was stating the obvious ;)

Edit: I'd be inclined to agree, however, that it doesn't.

Stating the obvious? Check this excerpt out, which discusses more recent studies that have shown no evidence of brain damage in monkeys, effectively overriding the Heath study that is referenced in that ancient article.

http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/cannabis_myth16.shtml said:
Two new scientific studies have failed to find evidence
of brain damage in monkeys exposed to marijuana, undercutting
claims that marijuana causes brain damage in humans.
The studies were conducted by two independent
research groups. The first, conducted by Dr. William Slikker,
Jr. and others at the National Center for Toxicological Research
in Arkansas examined some 64 rhesus monkeys, half of which
were exposed to daily or weekly doses of marijuana smoke for
a year. The other, by Gordon T. Pryor and Charles Rebert at SRI
International in Menlo Park, California, which is still
unpublished, looked at over 30 rhesus monkeys that had inhaled
marijuana one to three times a day over periods of 6 to 12
months. Neither study found evidence of structural or
neurochemical changes in the brains of the monkeys when
examined a few months after cessation of smoking.

The rest of that article is also outdated and for the most part substantively incorrect. So what you said was, to the best of our knowledge on the subject, incorrect.

I'm guessing some of the people that checked "none, never" haven't noticed the "Booze" option either?

Cause that would be quite an unbelievable percentage of people that have NEVER EVEN TRIED alcohol.

I think you're misapplying your own feelings. I've never tried alcohol and have never had the desire to. Most of my friends haven't either.

Horseshit.
*See Ennui's post for a serious rebuttal*

Wow this list makes me feel like a really great human being! Well you only live once ;)

Lol never tried alchohol?

Do you people live in a social vacuum?

I think you're misapplying your own feelings. I've never tried alcohol and have never had the desire to. Most of my friends haven't either.

It's understandable if someone hasn't tried drugs, cause they're officialy reviled and you can't buy them just anywhere, but alcohol is widespread and I thought most people in their late teens would've taken at least a sip of beer from their father or something.

I don't drink either, though everyone thinks I'm weird.

My flatmate doesn't drink or do any drugs either.

I know quite a few people who never have tried drinking alcohol and don't plan to. To each his own...

I tried to ignore this thread a bit but I can't help it. I don't like to condone the use of illegal drugs and I really don't want this sort of discussion here.
