Who friggin cares that a girl play's videogames?

Girls are different from guys. Who gives a shit how they act on the internet? Attentionwhoring by a girl is just as idiotic as attentionwhoring by a guy, it's just generally more effective.

Plus, if you were one of maybe four or five guys to be posting on a forum with hundreds and hundreds of female regulars, you'd probably reference your male-dom a bit more often than you do as it is.

To be honest, from my personal experience, most girl gamers on RPGs are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It disgusts me. IT KILLS ME!!!!! They simply cannot grasp the basic idea of the game they play.

But then in fps, most girls i encounter are ridiculously good, that its embarrassing.

You know, since someone else brought up 4chan camwhores I just have to say, everytime I look at Toaster's avatar I think it's Togi-chan. It LOOKS like Togi-chan, about 80% probability. I can't get over it. I've got suspicions that cannot be assuaged; Toast, if you read this, please confirm/deny.

Actually, everyone on the internet is as different as iff you walked into the mall, except... a lot less guns, and a lot more badmouthing because we don't have to be afraid of what people will do to us face to face. That's the only real reason any girl gets harassed online, because the immaturity of the players, and the fact that most teenage boys are in fact terrified of girls at a certain point.

Btw, most console gamers are the type that you could say penis and they will giggle for a half hour.

My sister sure as hell can't. But she tries, then asks me how to do stuff every few minutes, even if I've never played the game before. Thing is, even if I've never played the game before I'm usually better at it than her anyway, except Pharoh and Sim City. She was brilliant at those games. She's also a few years older than me.

Okay, this issue has been bugging me for a while now and I really don't want to make a new thread about it. I've never enjoyed strategy games. Supreme Commander, StarCraft, AoE, any of them. At best it feels like work, but usually I'm either bored or intimidated by the fact that I could get myself into a situation I can't escape from. Is it just me? :o
 
No. I, too, hate strategy games. Only one I ever enjoyed was Front Mission.

There aren't enough hardcore female gamers. There's a difference between just enjoying a game of DDR now and then and being a hardcore player. Sure, it's alright if you like games, but if you're the type that goes for 100% completion, watches speed runs, and reads professional articles on game design, you're no less of a loser these days than you were ten years ago.

What? I have seen so many hardcore female gamers. I even know one in life who is actually very pretty. She was more into EQ/WOW than I was. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't make you an expert. Also...I am pretty sure I have seen way more idiots on PC games than I have on xbox live. NOTHING is worse than barrens chat in wow. So stop with the idiotic generalizations. Everyone here needs to stop making the assumption that immature kids play console games and only the cool kids/adults play PC games. Obviously you guys have a lack of knowledge of PC users. Also...might I add another PC group into the mix...4chan?

4chan is hardly an example of maturity. That's not a generalization either. If you look at the first page of /b/ most people would be scarred for life.

Further furthermore, you don't necessarily know how mature someone is off of 4chan, or even just off of /b/. Further further furthermore, you're equating all of 4chan to what you might have seen on random, thus proving you're as ill-informed as everyone else on this forum who brings up the site. Further, further, further furthermore, this website isn't so mature either. Few communities are. If you're going to blanket say, "I'm not generalizing; 4chan is immature" you better do it for any site with a significant userbase.

I dunno if women should play videogames, it might distract them from cooking us dinner.
Plus, all the steam you get in the kitchen can't be good for the PC/console. Esp. if it's an xbox360.

I never said 4chan is immature. I can believe that once in a while something mature happens as I fully understand generalizations never work and theres always an exception to break that rule. Which is exactly why I think a lot of people ITT are idiots. Look at the first few posts and it's hard to believe that these people are serious or actually believe this. I mean wow...have they been sheltered their whole lives?

Wait? You actually think people on /b/ are being serious? You're far more lost than I thought your were initially. I tend to think most people ob /b/ are just being complete and utter dicks and generally don't act like one myself. Because really when you think about it no one is truly anonymous.

Reading this, one would be led to think that you wouldn't talk about 4chan either, rather than your current hobby of searching the term "4chan" and then responding to every post it comes up in.

No I don't actually read your posts :P I realize you meant people in this thread but I really couldn't care. The same rules still apply to a certain degree either way. A lot of people represent themselves poorly over the internet that includes those on /b/ and the people on this forum.

I don't see anything too horrible on page one (max posts per page) just you calling people idiots which I really don't think is justified at all.

although it's obviously not true, any time anybody has any identifying marks that make them seem female, I just convince myself they're lying.

I mean there's WAY too many guys out there with account names or character names like "ColdNipples" or "flGurl" or whatever...i'm no internet expert but from my observations there's basically 2 kinds of internet women.
1.) Those who don't want to 'out' themselves because then guys bombard them with messages
2.) Those attention whores who do it to get the attention from lonely guys.
 
Or those of us who have normal account names, and talk as everyone else does in games. I do it. I don't want attention, and I'm not going to not talk because I don't want to "out myself".
