Alan Wake's graphics said to "rival Unreal Engine 3"

Remedy's lead game designer who posts on Evil Avatar said that the quad cores are "helpful", but far from "necessary" for the game. He also said that the demo was NOT running on an SLI-configured PC, but on one nVidia GPU (he didn't say which one though so it's probably their DX10 card).

Alan Wake's graphics said to "rival Unreal Engine 3"

Also the game appears to have been optimized to run on QUAD core CPUs: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2006/09/26/Intel_shows_Core_2_Quad_threaded_Alan_Wake/ We will be seeing more of this game in the next couple of days at X06 in Barcelona.

    Price!??$20!!??

According to the NPD Group sales stats (that do not take into account Steam sales), HL2:Ep1 was the #2 selling PC game in the US in June 2006 and was the #5 selling PC game in the US for the week ending July 8, 2006. I'd say the game is doing just fine.
