Why are half the monsters depicted in Dead Space art not actually in the game? Like that one with the necromorph with a gas-mask , not in game. Just sayin' (both of those are similar to in game monstahs so i'll let them off :|)

The Necromorphs with gas masks are just infected HAZMAT or guards. During the process of becoming a Necromorph, I'd assume the mass mutilation and rearranging of the body would rip the gas mask off. As for the others, some probably just wouldn't have worked out as planned. I think they had a good balance of enemies in the game.
