Holy shit, don't tell me we've rekindled an interest of Arma 2 in Krynn. We've talked about getting you in the group, but I've assured them that you had no interest.

We play fairly frequently actually.

We'd play more often if the Chinese didn't keep liberating our army. A third of it anyway.

Huh? The only download that could possibly be 8.5 gigs is the Operation Arrowhead expansion. So it's downloading it as a 'patch'? Interesting.

I doubt it's doing that. It is steam... steam always seems to have bloated sizes of things.

Idunno what it is. I didn't buy the expansion, so that would be stupid if thats what it was. But this is what it downloaded, after installing from my backup files (which were 7.36 gigs themselves).

Other than the shitty ending I really enjoyed it. Only real problem was that it was too easy - even on the hardest difficulty the zone was a very forgiving place. Hopefully it won't be too long before some of the bigger overhaul mods like LURK and CoP Complete come out.

I'd say: SoC>Pripyat>>>Clear Sky

God, I need to play those games. I anticipated stalker so much, but haven't even touched the first one... I got demoralized after reports of all the changes in the wrong direction, stopped caring about the game, and never really gave it much look after the fact.

The first STALKER is great on its own, but its made phenominal by some of the great mods out there (Oblivion Lost, for example).

I've been wanting to play STALKER, but whenever I install the complete mod it ****s up my saves/settings. I can change them around when I'm in the game, and saving seems to work fine, but as soon as I exit and go back in they're all gone. All settings return to default, all saves disappear.

Haven't been able to find anyone else reporting the same problem either. The only thing I can think might have something to do with it is that I'm using the .exe version of the mod, instead of the .zip. Didn't really think before hand, but maybe it makes some registry changes or something that don't agree with the Steam version?

Probably too many little tweaks and mods to list, but those are the main three on the visual side of the things. If it takes your fancy you can switch on bloom with the r2_ls_bloom_fast command. r2_ls_bloom_threshold changes it strength, I've got it set to 0.1 in those screens. The lower the number the brighter. Also I've got r2_aa set to 1 which basically blurs the shit out of everything, but it helps considering there's no support for proper AA. Takes the rough edges off of the foliage at least. r2_aa_kernel adjusts the blur strength. Also there's the FOV Switcher if you're not a fan of the default 55 degree FOV.

As for specs - stock Q6600, 3 gigs of RAM and a 4870 1GB. Everything's maxed out running in DX9.
