Songs for the new hl

I beleive it would be a cool thing if they would put songs made from existing rock bands, or w/e you want in the new hl

I thought it'd be cool to see what people'd like to seee as a situation, with a song playing from somwhere else

Mine is this

The scene when alyx dies (if she does die, or maby she passes out, but gordon thinks she's dead) they should play the song "Right now" by van halen, because of the lyrics "Turn this thing around, RIGHT NOW!" and it's a very sad, angry, depressed, and pissed off song (probly what the player'd feel like )

another, it starts storming, and gordon's fighting the striders, and hunters, and they play thunderstruck by AC/DC

when she comes back, gordon's getting ready to go into the portal, and (i'm sorry if I seem like a vh freak, but these 2 songs are so perfect for hl in my mind ) she comes back, and before he goes she gets his attention (somehow, I don't care how at the moment) and she goes with him, and when you go through the portal, the song "Why can't this be love?" starts playing ^^ i love the sound of it.

I think it would be a horrible idea.

If they were to implement any music from commercial artists, I would hope it would be something along the lines of an experimental/alternative electronic act, without words. And hopefully they'd be original compositions made for the game.

Of course, I could image certain tracks from Aphex Twin's SAW2 playing in some of the more creepy moments of the HL franchise, or even some old Autechre playing amidst the Combine architecture.

There will not be a HL movie. VALVe have said this and I am ****ing glad there won't be. If there was, I'd want Laidlaw to handpick the actors and write the scripts.

I don't recall them saying there will never be a movie. They just said that every script they recieved essentially blew gnarly goatnad chunks and probably insulted them on a very deep and personal level.

I'm not entirely averse to a Half-Life movie. I just think it would need to be made when the quality standards for video game adaptations have proven themselves respectable (Halo might very well prove a step in this direction), and it would need a unique and different take on it. Either way though, the soundtrack would have to be entirely original.

'm not saying valve will put it into the game, im saying "Set the scene, and give us a song." and thats it, not "Give valve an e.mail telling them they should put real songs into the next game, and if they don't you will ainally rape them" wtf is wrong with using your imagination? games like tony hawk and need for speed are ok for commercial artists because they have no plot line, they have no rising action, no climax, nothing like that that would require any kind of music to set a mood. I love playing tony hawk 2 and listening to the awesome music while just cruze'n around front side filp'n the leap of faith! (THPS 2 was the only one with both good maps and music in one game ) now if only these next gen consoles will let you download your own music and substitute them... besides doesnt source have a "mp3" player.. if you want that just turn off in game music ( can you? I've never tried) and open up the mp3 player in the console. why is that only accessible through the console any way? why isn't it just in the options, is it not finished? w/e
